For others:
I think we have a few articles about mussles in Scotland and in Wales around here. IN one article they did a bit of reintroduction to a Welsh river-- of domestically cultured mussles.

We also have many articles about American rivers and the state of their mussles. I put them by states, ie, "Unios in Virginia"

Next to pearls, this has become my favorite pearly subject and I wish thousands of readers would take notice. There are MussleWtch sites in several states now, where folks count and type wild mussles, much as birder watchers do with birds!
