Hello! I have 4 different necklaces inherited from my great grandmother, I know nothing about them. They seem to be real as they’re gritty on my teeth but as far as identification goes I have no clue. Just wondering what kind of pearls they are and if they’re worth being insured. Thanks :)

How nice to inherit pearls!

That being said, their value is primarily sentimental. No need to insure!

The first necklace, of which you have 2 photos, is imitation. The excess coating near the drill holes is a dead giveaway. Also the very uniform shapes, sizes, color and luster, and the hook style clasp with rhinestones all point to an imitation strand.

The other 3 appear to be cultured freshwater pearls from China, not high value. The purple beads may be amethysts.
