    Natural Baroque Type Pearls

Thank you both, I had a feeling they were akoya, and I really came to appreciate the beauty of this necklace re-stringing it - each pearl is so individual, yet with the old blackened silk gone they are so harmonious.

    Natural Baroque Type Pearls

Hi, I find these fascinating...77 (originally 79 I think but a small one seemed to have been lost in a break so I removed a dull one while restringing) graduated pearls from 8mm to about 2mm, The clasp is very white gold marked 9ct with a large mine cut diamond chip that actually has a diamond...

    Tiny 3mm White Natural Pearls

It did come from England, you are right.

Cream 7mm Pearls with Possible Rose Gold and Platinum Clasp

I am sorry but I think you are slightly mistaken there...platinum and rhodium (that is plated over silver, white and even yellow gold to make it white and shiny) are completely different elements and metals. The clasp is made of two separate pieces bonded together, the underside is solid rose...

    Tiny 3mm White Natural Pearls

I think the necklace is about 17-18"

Cream 7mm Pearls with Possible Rose Gold and Platinum Clasp

Thanks...I tend to restring everything...my Grandpa taught me how to string pearls, apparently, in his day, pre WWI, it was a talent that curried more favour with the ladies than buying flowers or chocolates. :D

Cream 7mm Pearls with Possible Rose Gold and Platinum Clasp

Thanks, I haven't even attempted to clean them with soapy water as I rather like that colour so it might even be surface dirt. They are a distinctly different colour to the tiny white pearls.

    Tiny 3mm White Natural Pearls

Sorry about the blurry...it is just that they are so tiny to zoom in on.

Cream 7mm Pearls with Possible Rose Gold and Platinum Clasp

Sorry I can't get any more pictures for a week or two but there is no flaking on the clasp and my jeweller is a manufacturer not a retailer. He is 100% positive about the rose gold, just not about the platinum, it isn't plated whatever, and, apparently that kind of sharp "cut work" would be...

    Grey Natural Pearls?

Thanks...for some reason they came out looking banded too to my mind, but they aren't, that is just a shadow from the window behind me.

Cream 7mm Pearls with Possible Rose Gold and Platinum Clasp

I hope nobody minds me submitting 3 threads. I would appreciate any idea you can give me about these? They are 7mm perfect rounds, cold and gritty and they have not been restrung. My jeweller doesn't know much about pearls but is pretty sure the unmarked clasp is platinum on the outside and rose...

    Tiny 3mm White Natural Pearls

I hope nobody minds me submitting 3 threads. I would appreciate any idea you can give me about these? They are 3mm perfect rounds, cold and gritty. This is the original clasp in 9ct gold and they have not been restrung. Thank you for looking.

    Grey Natural Pearls?

I would appreciate any idea you can give me about these? They are 6mm perfect rounds, cold and gritty. The original clasp was a 14kt ball clasp but it was broken and I preferred this vintage claw clasp. I cannot remember if they were originally strung with knots or not. Thank you for looking.

    Dove Grey Pearls?

I already have some small casual dove grey baroque freshwater pearls - 9 loose strands you tie like a scarf - and I LOVE them so these will be to wrap around. The traditional cream pearls look dreadful with my skin tone - I just recently discovered grey. ;)

    Dove Grey Pearls?

Thank you both so much for such quick replies. :) I suspected as much from the close color match, each strand is about a meter long and I am thinking that so many near round, natural grey, sea pearls so well matched in color would be exceptionally unlikely to turn up at all, let alone cheap...

    Dove Grey Pearls?

Hi, I wonder if you could help me with these grey pearls, they are strung without catches or knots (that I can see) in 3 strands in well graduated lengths obviously intended to wear together The top 2 lines (from one strand) do not seem the same as the other 4 and may be freshwater pearls...
