Bit of an update on this. I was able to make a pin from scratch today at work. It's 9K gold, I think the lighter tone of the gold goes better with the light colour of the pearl. I'm just letting the epoxy harden and I will take some photos.

I've just picked this little beauty up from the post office. It looks round to my eye and it has a very beautiful silky luster. I can't wait to get it into a setting. I'd love to get a round tahitian next.

Thanks Karin, they're square knots tied between the pearls, similar to a shambala bracelet I think. I only used 6 pearls for it. I've got 10 left I haven't used yet. I could probably do something like that with the remaining 10, Katbran. I found this photo the other day. Perhaps I could do...

Great suggestion! I've actually just made something like that, but with cotton rather than leather. I've run out of (lost) leather and the store I used to buy it from has shut down I've just discovered. Anyway, I'm quite pleased with how it looks. I've also put the new tahitian on the necklace...

Thanks very much guys, I'm hoping that when I get some more photos back there will be a good shot of the pearl. I have definitely grown to like the nub on the top, it does add to the character of the pearl. It's amazing how much larger the new pearl is considering it's only gone up 2 sizes.
