They aren't fine pearls, but for $2, you got a steal of a deal!

It's a piece of Hyriopsis cumingii with attached beaded freshwater pearls. They are called blisters. The pearls couldn't be harvested because they broke from the pearl sac and attached to the shell so the shell was cut up and used this way.

These are dyed freshwater pearls.

I think they clasp over the pearls as shown. This would make them adjustable. If only using one and tying off the end of the strand, it could also be used as a lariat I believe. These pearls look like they could be natural color.
