This is a wonderful thread! I've been thinking about it for days :) What a treat to see everyone's thoughts and choices, or inability to choose ... so far I'm in with the latter ... But categories of favorites for me would definitely include Gold South Sea and especially my original Harvest...

I also recommend contacting Pacific Pearls or sister company Kojima Pearls, as Jeg says; they have many options including older/vintage stock. It might help if you find some internet photos of what you have in mind to help the search. Good luck :)

Can I just say .... you ladies are fabulous sharing so many tips and techniques ... BWeaves, Pattye, Pearl Dreams and others ... we SEE you and so appreciate everything you do :)

BWeaves ... so happy to see the Beachy rope :) I sat with that in front of me for an hour of Pearl Bingo, trying to decide before putting it back; so glad it got a good home where I get to see it now and then! That mabe set would be really pretty as a pendant and ring.

Hi Pomelo and welcome! Another option, if you LOVE your strand, but are bothered by those 3 pearls ... wear the strand for a while. If the 3 still bother you, contact any of the vendors mentioned here and there, and replace just those 3 pearls; it can make a world of difference.

Looks like SS to me too. The only thing that matters is if YOU love them! The luster is very pretty :) My own white South Sea pearls are very circled and I love them. Have fun deciding!
