    Triple strand cultured pearls

Yes, faux. I just got a box of imitations at an estate sale...the owner had kept ALL the tags from ALL her pearls in the bottom, including an appraisal for genuine pearls. So the tag that says cultured pearls was probably kept with the imitations. The "greening" on the metal bead cups often...

    Thrifted pearl studs

Freshwater buttons are very distinct...flat on bottom & rounded on top...I have seen them in all sizes and some even weirdly rough...but they all have the same basic look. I have also seen very low quality akoyas that have a more button shape if you mean flatter on top & bottom as apposed to...

    Linda's Lowly Beading Adventures

Love it!!! Asked my youngest if he would make me one...he says he doesn't have enough resistors!!!! What a wonderful way to work on wire work! And super cool! (I would be the one making it..he is far too busy actually doing the electronic stuff....I mess with jewelry.)

    Pearls for men

I love history and history of fashion is a passion...I find is super interesting that Early 1700's Men were much more "dressed up" than women. There buttons were even jewelry and they wore brighter colors & more layers. But as with all things, style come and go. There also doesn't seem like a...

    Thrifted pearl studs

When you look at the side of the earrings...you can see a button pearl shape. Akoyas are round. Buttons are freshwater. Still FW buttons are one of my favorites! They make pearl earrings super affordable & lots of colors.

Pearl dreams...my parents went to China about that timeframe and brought me back those button pearls in a long hand tied strand...I love the look!

Very interesting! I wonder about the tanks though, is that specific tech for location or special mollusks? I'll have to read more later.

    Aliexpress pearls

My experience on Etsy...There was a seller with "representational" photos and good feedback......the pearls were horrible to me! It could be because I hate surprises and want to see what I am getting...but I did not like them at all. I gave them away...they were so bad! There also was a...

    Keshi pearls damage? Help!

If they really bother you so that you won't wear them...get a beading kit from Pattye & restring them...either remove the ones you don't like or move them to the back if it would be too short.

What type of pearls are these and where can I sell them?

With the name Mikimoto that seems to make it vary a little... there is a chat feature that you could ask eBay those questions.

What type of pearls are these and where can I sell them?

The only problem selling them on eBay is that you need to have sold before on eBay and have gotten feedback & most Mikimotos have to go thru authentication. The strand can fail, if the x-ray machine can't read the metal or it isn't 925 sterling, if you said it was. (That happened to someone on...

Can you help me identify this? Thanks 🙏

These are perfect to ask my question BWeaves!!! The color varies so much...they look grey, they look green, they look blue....is that a feature of blue akoyas? I have some I can decide if I love or hate...because of this.

    Please identify both!

Pearls are very popular right now. I noticed when I was in a jewelry store...they have all pearl necklaces with gold priced the same! They probably have a base price that they go with. So jewelers don't even know that different pearls are more valuable. $200 used is average around here...but...
