Since you asked........ Either have the pearl tested by the GIA or send it back to Budi. If it is in fact bead nucleated, why keep it, since the pearl's quality appears to leave a lot to be desired. ;) BTW, I happen to like the way the current pearl looks in the necklace. Gail

I'd have the pearl tested and here's why.... Although, a lab's opinion of whether the pearl is natural or a cultured keshi might be questionable, a lab report will tell you if the pearl is bead nucleated and if the color has been treated in any way. In my opinion, these issues are important. If...

Before obtaining an appraisal, you might want to have the pearl x-rayed and identified by a gem lab. A lab report will be able to ascertain if the pearl contains a bead nucleus or not. If there is no bead nucleus, the lab may be able to determine if the pearl is cultured or natural. Without a...
