Hmmm.. the drilling seems to have changed over the years. I just had to start again on a strand with huge variability of holes! My solution to this one is to make the knots as big as I need to the biggest holes as I reknot this for the second time! Maybe Pattye...can jump in with all her...

Pearl Dreams...close. He is a local jeweler who specializes in repair (I believe he contracts for several big box stores) he often gets interesting things in trade. Broken, he uses to repair, but other things he sells. He knows nothing of pearls. He, like many, think Mikimoto means $$$$$...

At $1000 for the strand and $200-400 for the clasp (I agree with @JMichaels that is about the $) Is out of my price range for just the Mikimoto name. If he doesn't sell them (I doubt he will...most jewelers around here won't even restring pearls.) I may see if I can get them for a deal and wait...
