I'd use two part epoxy. Don't use too much! You don't want it oozing over to the surface of the pearl.

Yes, with pearls as with all beaded jewelry, restringing is the big variable. Anything goes.

I don't know but here is a close up of my "Biwa" pearls in daylight. Whether they originated in China or Japan, either way they are freshwaters.

I'm going to guess CFW because the pearls I received in 1980 marked "Biwa" are very lustrous by comparison.
