    Real/fake/imitation or cultured

Hi Smithy, You have a strand of imitation pearls. Look closely around the holes to observe how the coating has built up and also places where the coating has flaked off to show the bead underneath. The clasp is interesting; is it marked in any way on the underside?

Antique Pearl Necklaces with Platinum Diamond Clasps

The reflections on the pearls are so similar with the coloration of the color being unusual, I then found the bead with peeling coat and agree with you BWeaves, definitely imitation in my opinion, too. Did the seller/owner tell you these are diamonds set in platinum? Were the diamonds tested...

Some thoughts, as my name was mentioned ~ There must be many designers and artisans making jewelry using pearls, and likely pearls and gemstones, too. Check Yelp. Freshwater or saltwater pearls?

Welcome, Moonlightpearls. To me, both of these strands appear to be cultured freshwater pearls. The gold ones appear to be dyed. I don't know what price she paid, but genuine round SS strands like this would likely be up from $10,000 each. What makes me feel these are freshwater are the...

Please can someone help identify these pearls possibly help with an estimate value.

If any of the little knobs do snap off, it may leave a rough, uneven area. Just take a fine nailfile and level it out. It will hardly be noticeable when strung.

Welcome! An awesome necklace for sure! The marks you're showing belong to the company that made the clasp, not the designer of the rope. I don't see anything that will indicate who the designer is. The number 408901 may relate to the specific style. Enjoy!
