    Freshwater or saltwater pearls?

Welcome, Moonlightpearls. To me, both of these strands appear to be cultured freshwater pearls. The gold ones appear to be dyed. I don't know what price she paid, but genuine round SS strands like this would likely be up from $10,000 each. What makes me feel these are freshwater are the...

These pearls are probably closer to 9mm. Agree, these appear to be Chinese freshwaters.

Please can someone help identify these pearls possibly help with an estimate value.

If any of the little knobs do snap off, it may leave a rough, uneven area. Just take a fine nailfile and level it out. It will hardly be noticeable when strung.

Welcome! An awesome necklace for sure! The marks you're showing belong to the company that made the clasp, not the designer of the rope. I don't see anything that will indicate who the designer is. The number 408901 may relate to the specific style. Enjoy!

    Opinions needed

Welcome, MrGray, we look forward to a follow up post when you have the pearls in hand. What size are the pearls? Perhaps the seller confused the meaning of "simulated" with "cultured"? I agree with Pearl Dreams, cultured pearls.

Blue baroque Akoyas. Need an opinion !

I think if the pearls were dyed they would be a more uniform color. Like the others have mentioned, probably they will show less intense color irl. Personally I enjoy baroque pearls like this. Is there a return policy if you find they don't suit you?

Yes, thank you! Some very interesting strands and that beautiful clasp, wow! I was able to look over your strand photos last night and again today. I can see why you feel the 2 older strands could be natural. It's interesting to me that they appear to be so white. Just a little practice and...

Well, I would check thoroughly to be sure there were no rough spots. I'd think with care and usual wear the pearls wouldn't be harmed.

    clasp help!

There is a hinge on one side. I'd get my loupe and examine the other side to see what the release mechanism is. There may be a bar one has to push down. I'm curious, too! Gorgeous pearls! I have clasps similar with basic safety locks.
