Hi M.Hoze, I’m in Pittsburgh. I PM’d you the name of a local jeweler who loves pearls, and knows knotters, if that’s what you’re looking for. He just closed his bricks and mortar store after a lifetime in the business, but still has a Facebook page. please keep us posted, if you feel like it:D

bead nucleated freshwater : anyone with experience in nacre depth or cracking problem

These are all little, and the way they’re drilled, there’s a beautiful side, then you flip it and there’s the secret world. Much prettier irl. I feel a rope coming on. I definitely didn’t ‘see’ these pearls 10yrs ago. There should be plain white pearls, or Rice Krispie pearls between...

Not only these, but! On my first eBay forays I got some pearls from China, and I thought “What the???? What the heck am I supposed to do with these???” I think I’m seeing, now. I’m grateful I have these treasures, and I hope the drillers and sorters are still employed, and are appreciated...

bead nucleated freshwater : anyone with experience in nacre depth or cracking problem

Ah, Douglas, everyone was so patient with me, in all of my ignorance and enthusiasm. I still have one strand of my sorely abused pearls, which escaped further abuse while I mulled. 1)stopped the process before the thread dissolved, but after a little bleaching 2) the thread had dissolved but...

Looking to buy my first necklace, or two

Good rationale, rokor! and your gamble is way more likely to pay off than a lot of our early gambles on eBay! I hope it’s more beautiful in person, which it may well be, since pearls are hard to capture in photographs. I’m looking forward to seeing it. oh yeah, those 100” ropes are tons of...

Looking to buy my first necklace, or two

Ps I went to ruby lane to see if I could find the necklace and more photos, but lol, have to say my youthful “can do” has gone. Or eyesight. I’m pondering cosmic things like “Is it age, or just getting too used to feeling safe with known vendors, or what! my take-a-chance confidence has taken...

Looking to buy my first necklace, or two

Do you have any other photos of the pearls? I love the clasp. A way to judge a pearl’s quality is by looking at the reflection inside the pearl. The sharper the edges of the reflection, the better. Given that, you weigh in the other qualities you’re seeking. The color, the size of the...

    Thoughts on Metallic White Ripple?

I like them, the sizes are good and the prismatic colors coming to life in the white pearls give you a lot of flexibility. Much to love.

Kamoka Pearls featured on NPR segment!

This is so cool! It was great but too short, I could’ve listened forever, wanted more of Josh and Celeste. I know it has to be short for NPR; my sister listens to NPR during transit times. Still, way beyond cool, thank you for the link Pattye!

Pearls that will suit a pale, pink complexion

She looks wonderful! I must say, your Goldens turned my brain around, too. I didn’t think Goldens worked with pale skin, until I saw Newberry’s harvest strand and your Goldens. The long and winding road... Hey, your daughter’s strand is knotted, but are those bumpers in your strand, PD?
