    New colorful Tahitians!

Sorry about the delay... a sick cat and a husband who combined stepping on a toothpick with a colonoscopy! (don't ask lol) I have another very colorful strand; here they are together as a rope (I really like them this way): and separately, which my husband prefers (but I like to look at them too):

These are from the Pearl House, on Etsy: They are approx 10-12mm. Hopefully neck shots tomorrow when I am not wearing an old t-shirt.

Thank you for the nice comments! Amti, I think if they are not called potato chip pearl, they ought to be! But I'm afraid that I made that up...

pearls and amethysts, and a bonus

I like the idea of layering the emerald beads. My original thought was to use them for an emerald pendant. Here are some neck shots, first the potato chip pearls; and the coin pearls, which my daughter is trying to talk me into giving to her... I had these pale peach pearls, and made a...

I finished the emerald bead necklace. Here is a shot of it. The gold beads are 3mm, to give you a scale. The power pro worked wonders!

pearls and amethysts, and a bonus

Yes, I am using the Beader's Secret, in the smaller size (#40). Is there an even smaller one? The thread I got them on is a little finer. I will look into the wire -- I think I have some fine guage. Maybe it is fine enough. Thanks Pattye!

pearls and amethysts, and a bonus

Thank you everyone! The bead in the third necklace is a fancy bead, but not vintage. We have a nice bead store near here who carries some very fancy beads. When I saw the silverite and the silver bead, I fell in love. I've gotten stuck with the emeralds -- the holes are very small, and have...

pearls and amethysts, and a bonus

First, some freshwater potato chip pearls, and amethysts: Some freshwater coin pearls, also with amethysts: And finally, not pearls, but silverlite (whatever that is; I've gotten contradictory information on it) but I think it lovely: I have been very lazy about posting -- I finished these at...

    Thread to use

I use only the beader's secret now. I find it much easier than silk. I am on the shaky/klutzy side, and it helps me get good close knots. I am slow. I tie the knot and use an awl to make sure it is next to the pearl. Then I put it down, carefully remove the awl, and pull the threads apart so the...

    Akoya redos

I love the tassel, too! Are they very difficult to make? I am somewhat clumsy and shaky, but I can knot pearls OK (thanks to the wonders of Beader's Secret). Anyway, you have some lovely pearls; thank you for sharing!

    Opinion and input wanted

I know a little Cyrillic, and the first letter does look like a P (like a pi) but it could also be an L, which looks a lot like a capital lambda. It's pretty worn.

Anyone purchase a high end strand from Kamoka?

I bought this harvest strand about 2 years ago. I like it very much. I think their return policy is very open, and they are very nice people to work with. You could send a message. and just for fun a pair of Kamoka earrings that I love:

    pearls and sapphires

It seems to roll over awfully easily. I am going to try wearing it on the side and see if that makes a difference. Or even in back; I have short hair. Thank you!
