I figure it makes economic sense to use rats ... cheaper to breed, shorter mating cycle and less hassle with taking care of chicks. Assuming they are lab rats and not caught from the sewers. Still, I'm not ordering roast pigeon ... You have to admit their butchering skills are pretty artistic.

Well, tap water in most major cities taste like drainwater to be honest. I don't think the boiling does much apart from getting rid of the volatile dissolved gases. Bottled water from reputable sources is the way to go. If there is no immediate benefit to be reaped, they aren't going to do...

Ditto the Cortez pearls ... I am a big fan of intensely colored pearls, especially peacocks. It would be a dream come true to have a gem quality multicolored strand. I'm not too fussed about size - 9-10mm would do it for me.

I won't be seeing her till after Christmas ... my sister will be going home just prior so I'll have her take back some. She likes anything that's shiny ... though her tastes veer towards diamonds.

I actually did take apart the two strands and match them by size and shape in pairs. Also got 9 pairs of interesting drops for earrings which I may never make and a single weird looking one that may go in a pendant.

I did some boring strands with whatever I had left. Nothing too exciting. Two pink 9-10mm of varying peachy shades, and another lavender drop with sterling silver spacers. I hope they don't tarnish so quick.
