Baroque pearl in 14 kt white gold ring

Not really I bought it from a pawn shop years ago when gold was cheap. I bought it for the 14 kt gold at spot. I looked at the gems I bought with the gold jewelry - as in this pearl - as immense bonuses to be treasured. All I can say is the ring design appears dated 70s? 60? maybe 50s I would...

    Melo melo?

Thank you for the suggestion I tried to send a PM not sure if it went I'll check and try again later if it did not go through. Perhaps I should start a thread on this melo melo in "Natural Pearls"?

    Melo melo?

Gosh I hope I was not rude - seems I have a little problem health-wise associated with my profession (movie rights alone worth millions should I survive). Please forgive I have really appreciated the advice.

Yes the pearl has been polished looks like a buffing wheel, there are flats. The thrift store did however give me a large discount.

Golden SS pearls from the 1950-1960s?

I can't tell even at +++ if that is an emerald or not - but on the other hand it certainly could be. Looks like the ends of the strands are french whipped which I would take to be a good sign. Again hard to be certain with these images.

    Melo melo?

Thank you - and yes the images are a bit fuzzy but not to much more than the pearl appears itself in transmitted light. Its just a fuzzy orange glowing blob with dark clouds of material.

    Melo melo?

Thank you ever so much for the sage advice. And I think I understand, the same sort of thing happened to me in my profession - there I was looking for experts to confirm my findings only to eventually and painfully discover I was it - as no one else in the world was doing what I did. It did not...

Golden SS pearls from the 1950-1960s?

If you can get a good macro of the stone in the clasp one might be able to tell if its likely an emerald. Of course an ID over the web would be suspect, but sometimes emerald cabs can be rather distinctive.

    Melo melo?

Oh I'm not going - what a resource this forum is! like I stated at the start of this thread I've been mucking about gemology and pearls for at least ten years - not much of a leap from geology. In fact my prior research is what lead me to grab this object up as soon as I saw it. One remembered a...

    Melo melo?

translucent translucent I'll certainly do so. Though I've tried to read every post on melo melo as well as maybe a hundred articles on the web - one tries to do due diligence before taking up folks time. It was ohdarkthirty when I read the candling post and did not wish to root about for my...

    Melo melo?

Candling? Candling? Well I'll give it a try - just sort of thought candling would not show much if anything on a melo melo as the flame pattern is a reflected image or so I thought from reading. At 107 carats while this would be a large melo melo (if it is) it would not be outrageously so...
