You have such a fun thread. Love the pearl art! those Tahitians are lush. Know what I do when I come to your thread and you don't have a new pictures? I start clicking backwards for more happiness!
I used to collect old watches and they did scratch a service note with a date that made me wonder about this too. If it was re-strung in 55, this is an old strand.
Karman, a rope would be perfect with this shirt. I do not have one yet! There goes another thing on my list! Loved your long strand from yesterday. They did look like baroque akoya to me. Very pretty.
Your 10mm south sea ring is really beautiful.
MSC, I love the colors in the necklace. Opals...
Just curious; I bought this akoya strand 2nd hard and noticed etching on the "J" of the fish hook clasp. It looks like LY55H and is repeated at the top. Any guesses what this means? I am wondering if this was somehow marked with the owner and 1955. The strand size would fit with that time...
Karmen, you look like an angel in those pearls - lovely!
Bweaves, I love your blues...and the new studs play nicely with them!
Red, that Kamoka harvest strand is a grail item - beautiful!
Oh no, I am so sorry to hear this. If it helps, I am talking to smart, wonderful folks who accidently fell into this (as consultants or buyers) and spent money on the pearls. I have a facebook group that educates about the oyster parties and talk to people daily. I have seen some very shoddy...
Oh hey, I really like them together. First time I ever saw a black and white pair on a model...was sort of curious how it would look. They look GREAT! Agree on the non-matchy look, much less formal and perfect with your sweater.
The colors on that souffle are so unique (to me) I am in love with that pearl. Looks beautiful on you (you look great in everything - the perfect pearl model).
Thanks everyone, I do like it too. Funny how much the pearl changes the necklace.
Katbran, the top of this drop is not too lovely. The setting hides it very well!
