Share your Pearl Paradise Private Launch Purchases!

Everyone got the email? Check out the private launch view page again -- and I'll tell you it's going to be awesome. In fact, check out the very first photo on the view page - I have on decent authority that someone here on P-G may have actually done some photography for that set. ;)

    Andrew's Photography & Pearls

Here's a photo of Mom's strand by itself that I snuck in the studio setup for a different project, which I will hopefully be able to share soon. In the mean time, enjoy this lovely strand all by itself once more and check out the sharp luster on these! - Fun fact I noticed, Mom's big Gem...

    Andrew's Photography & Pearls

Thanks all! No phone photos here, lol. But, I'll be posting more as the semester progresses and also I have a few fun things to share about photographing pearls, themselves -- just need to get to writing that.

    Andrew's Photography & Pearls

Hi all! I thought this would be a fun thread. As I get the privilege to photograph jewelry, I also thought it would be cool to include some shots that I/my students have done. I help to teach a photography class at our local community college, so we always have models and portraiture going on...

What colours do you think will be "in" for this year?

As a graphic designer and photographer, we (me, fellow photographers) are educated guesstimating that along with the pantone color of the year ("living coral") we will see a lot of lighter, pastel-y colors this year in general design trend. Overall, it will be a year for less saturated colors...

Mikimoto Grade Comparison -- Take a guess!

Maybe, I suppose. - I purposefully cut them to be not in order so it wouldn't be as obvious having them all in ascending quality. Plus, I thought it might have offered a more realistic comparison to how people generally buy pearls online, especially like I said when considering that the...

Mikimoto Grade Comparison -- Take a guess!

Hi P-G friends. Glad to be getting back to this thread at last! So, I have the answers... Lisa C hit the nail on the head exactly, and as many here correctly guessed, number 4 is the AAA strand! But, a couple of interesting observations... 1 was the AA strand, so in theory the closest to...

Mikimoto Grade Comparison -- Take a guess!

Interesting point on the monitors. My high end color corrected monitor for photography clearly shows the different overtones even if the luster is difficult to differentiate. Something I've always thought interesting is how silver Mikimoto strands seem to appear in photos. For those who have...

Mikimoto Grade Comparison -- Take a guess!

This was just something for fun, folks, not meant to be a scientifically perfect test. I am aware that a photo (and not one I took at that) is very very different from being able to examine them in person.
