    Thoughts on a humble strand

I'd say they're freshwater pearls from China. They do look better after their bath. :)

Hi. can someone help me confirm if i bought a real South Sea Pearl. im having doubts..

They are the most expensive pearls. In those sizes, certainly over a thousand dollars if not several thousand, just for the pearls, never mind the gold and if those are diamonds, the diamonds. Compare these prices: https://www.pearlparadise.com/collections/white-south-sea-pearls...

Hi. can someone help me confirm if i bought a real South Sea Pearl. im having doubts..

I suppose one indicator might be whether you paid south sea pearl prices for them. SSP are more valuable than FWP. Vendors would lose money if they sold SSP at FWP prices.

    Identify Jewelry Mark

OP messaged me as follows: Thank you for so much information! My MIL did work for Bank of America in the past and the picture in the Etsy link is the same mark! It didn’t come in the original box so I don’t have anything that states it is Majorica. I appreciate all the information you have...

Can you help me ID these?

Off-round freshwater pearls are very common, so not a high value.

    Identify Jewelry Mark

I would like to know what the back of the clasp says-- metal mark or brand mark. Check the tongue also. Does it state Majorica specifically? Is it stamped 925? (Vermeil-- gold plating over silver). The reason I ask is that the clasp and the little corrugated cone end beads are just like certain...

How do you open a new can of Attack?

Also, you may wish to store the can outside in a shed between uses. I had a can that evaporated entirely in my basement even though the lid was tightly screwed on after opening. It's not good to inhale that stuff.

    Identify makers mark?

That is hard to make out, but it could just be the mark of the maker of the clasp (as opposed to the maker of the necklace as a whole.)

Help me identify these pearl necklaces and the estimated price

Many people think dyed freshwater pearls are Tahitians; they are often sold deceptively as such. The white pearls would benefit from a bath and probably also restringing. They will look more lustrous then. Pearls and thread accumulate grime from contact with skin, cosmetics/lotions. air...

    Information on Baroque Pearl Necklace

The thread will be cut away and replaced with new thread, so don't worry about its getting clean enough. When you restring them, if you like, you can choose another clasp. Or use the same one. You can also omit the pearls that are in the worst condition, if you like. Or rearrange them so the...

Help me identify these pearl necklaces and the estimated price

The black ones are baroque dyed freshwater pearls from Chna. These are inexpensive pearls; if the clasp is gold that would raise the value, as gold is so expensive these days. The white strand, I cant tell from the photo if they are fully round-- are they? It could be camera distortion but in...

    Information on Baroque Pearl Necklace

Great job answering the questions! They are baroque akoya pearls! You can see the bead inside one of them where the nacre is missing. The stone could be onyx. Clasp is 14K gold by its markings; gold used to be much less costly so I don't doubt it. Given the relative cost of gold now vs. those...

    What are they...50's - 60's

Thick nacre does not guarantee luster. And women like round pearls! My guess-- round akoya pearls were more generally desired/desirable then as now, and thus were more valuable than baroque pearls then as now.
