    Antique seed pearl necklace restoration

I googled your info and came up with a name of a Marina Feldman in CA. marina@marinaj.com If you email her a picture and note perhaps she can help you. I would suggest trying to get a better picture. You are able to turn off your flash on your camera on the settings if it's a phone camera. If...

    Back from the stringer

Have you tried hanging the clasp in front like a pendant? The gravity works better to keep it from moving compared to putting it on the side. If it sill rolls, flip it and clasp opposite as mentioned by me previously. My personal opinion is that the strand and clasp look beautiful as is...

    Back from the stringer

I also have a strand of vintage akoyas that have a large clasp that was originally a double clasp and the jeweler removed that so the clasp is now for a single strand. Occasionally I wear the clasp in front and it rolls. I find if I flip the necklace and connect it the opposite way, the clasp...

World's oldest natural pearl found in Abu Dhabi

Wow. It is amazing that it was even found--- it could have been just another stone on the floor and been missed. It is a testament to the archaeologists that they found it. It also appears to be pretty lustrous for a pearl that old! And has an interesting color. A glimpse into humankind's...

Thanks Charlotta, you have a good memory. Yes, that is the petite GSSP and tourmaline necklace from Ocean's Cove. The pendant is a ruby and diamond pendant I designed, and had made at the jeweler's, from 2 rings I owned when I first started dental school 35 years ago. We were not allowed to wear...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

I had purchased one 14 carat gold bail enhancer and one Sterling silver for my pendants from Rio Grande per jeg's suggestion. I didn't realize that it would turn the pendant on the side until I got it. So, what I ended up doing was putting 2 of them together in order to have my pendant hang...

    mikimoto pearl necklaces

In what country did you buy these? Were they marketed as new or vintage or pre- owned? These are not new or from an American market. Your best bet is to send them to Mikimoto for verification. Clasps can be switched out.
