Pls help me identify my 3 pairs of pearl earrings bought online

I couldn't tell much either. Not sure if they are FWP or SSP. The dark yellow ones, even if SSP, could be color enhanced with dye (dark gold SSP are considerably more valuable than lighter gold or yellow colors.)

Any insights on these pearl sold as Tahitian black pearl

Lots of folks like wearing dyed freshwater pearls (I have a strand myself), so yes, they do have value. But nowhere near the value of saltwater pearls of natural color. If you are interested in learning more about pearls, may I suggest you take the "Pearls As One" course? I will DM you a code...

Any insights on these pearl sold as Tahitian black pearl

Ask for a refund, and if he balks, give him a link to this thread. Jeremy Shepherd (jshepherd) is the owner of Pearl Paradise, president of the Pearl Association of America, and co-author of the CPAA "Pearls As One" course-- and if he says they are freshwaters, you can take that to the bank. And...

I think they may be dyed freshwater pearls. Interested in other opinions. @jshepherd

Please help me identify if these are real pearls & what kind

These are Chinese freshwater pearls. The "14/20" mark on the ball clasp indicates it's 14K gold-filled (1/20th gold by weight; 14K gold plated over base metal.)

    I’m a pearl Hoarder I think

The loupe is a 10x magnifier; a regular magnifier won't be strong enough. If you like to buy used jewelry it wouldn't be a bad idea to buy a loupe; I always have one in my purse. They are not expensive-- Amazon carries them.

    Is this strand real?

    The shapes look like freshwaters.

    What are theeeese?!

They don't look round. I'm guessing lower quality FWP.

The one you are referring to is imitation. Since you own genuine pearls I will give you a simple test you can do. Real pearls are cooler than imitation pearls made from coated glass or plastic beads. Assuming all the pearls have been in the same room for a while (same ambient temperature)...

That strand is imitation. See the excess coating near the drill hole? That is often seen with imitation pearls.

As for the other strand whose clasp is marked silver, we need more photos. On a white background please, in clear focus and no flash. Please show the entire necklace as well as closeups of any flaws. They are not Mikimoto (no Mikimoto mark) but we need to see them better to see if they are...

Sorry to say this strand is imitation pearls. See the spot on this pearl near the clasp where the imitation pearly coating peeled off?

Question about natural (real) 60+ year old freshwater pearls from India

GIA could certify them as naturals but would not give you a valuation. You would need an appraiser for that-- but the appraiser would need the certification to state a replacement value. Perhaps it is worth it, if you intend to insure them.

    Are Tahitian pearl sizes shrinking?

Thank you! I had to go measure them-- I couldn't recall. :) And yes, they are really lustrous. More than my other pearls. This one is just over 26 and 1/2". I love necklaces that are 26-28". Easy to throw on, and not so long they hang into everything or swing around a lot. BTW, those are...

    Are Tahitian pearl sizes shrinking?

The first strand is baroque pearls from Rikitea, 8.2-11.3mm. The luster is high, probably the highest luster of any of my non-white pearls. The second is the one we bought from PP for our daughter's 21st birthday, but she didn't want them (!) So my husband wears them. He loves them. They are...

    Are Tahitian pearl sizes shrinking?

My most lustrous and colorful Tahitian pearls are the smaller ones.
