    Paspaley from Legacy Saint Jewelry

Another foto - this time with more light. There’s an acorn top on one of the earrings but I think it’s not obvious. Maybe my low standards, lol.

I took photos of both sides of the earrings. On the backsides, you can see some wrinkling/blemishes.

    Paspaley from Legacy Saint Jewelry

And the earrings finally arrived. Here are some photos together with a Paspaley pendant that I already had (13mm dive rope drop) for comparison. The earrings are supposed to be 14 mm. Seems a close call! The “Paspaley Certificate” is quite laughable. However, I do think the pearls aren’t bad...

    Tahitians or FWP?

Hi, Pella. Thank you. I peruse these ID posts for purposes of educating myself through all the expert responses here. Since all pearls can have imperfections, what is it about these particular imperfections that indicate freshwater?

    A Friend’s Mystery Strands

Hi, all. I’m sorry I don’t have better pictures but these two photos are of a friend’s necklaces. She says they are real pearls. Would you please help me identify them? The multi-color strand was purchased from a jeweler in New Orleans about 20 years ago. The necklace on brown leather or...

    Ban Island and Kasumis

Thanks for that info, jshepherd! One small bag a year . . . no wonder they are so expensive. That last farmer must work out of love. So, I’ll treasure the three that I have (purchased from the Pacific Pearls website). Also, my wire work on that pendant is pretty sad. I think the real Kasumis...

    Ban Island and Kasumis

Wow! The Gellner pearl and spinel pieces are very beautiful. Especially the brown spinel with the coppery Tahitians! I also like the Soul Mates pictorial on the website - very Pina Bausch-esque. But I think a necklace made entirely of spinel - with rose gold beads, no less - is just too...

    Ban Island and Kasumis

The Chinese ripples - aka supposed Kasumis - came in this afternoon. In case anyone is interested, here’s photos for comparison. The new ones are the bigger sized strand. The smaller strand are Chinese ripples from Kojima. The pendant is made up of real Kasumi pearls (am rethinking the chain...

Let’s say sharks are great hunters. This guppy goes for every shiny thing in the ocean right now, lol. Enthusiasm vs. experience.

    Ban Island and Kasumis

It is impossible to find good Bisbee. Let alone Kingman turquoise. Only the old stuff already set and then you must pay to reset!

When it comes to pearls, I’m a guppy swimming with sharks. Nonetheless! Here is today’s basic fit for a day at the office. Pink freshwater pearls and earrings from the Pearl Source to compliment a rose print top.

    Ban Island and Kasumis

According to Google AI, the seller description indicates they are Chinese ripple pearls. The seller description says "the pearls are from the Far East, although originating from Japan." Apparently, that is "standard industry shorthand" for Chinese ripples. As a lawyer, I was wondering about...

    Ban Island and Kasumis

I am officially banished to Ban Island!:cry: However, I have pearl strands - already purchased - to string while there. Do you guys think the Kasumis at Ayla’s Originals are authentic? I understand that the proprietors, Ayla and Tom Pizzo, are pretty reputable and used to be more active...

Real or Fake? What did I buy?

After taking this strand apart to restring/reknot it, I have to say I understand the price more! They do all look like real Akoyas to me, but I found that for 3 or 4 of the pearls, the ends look abraded (these were the baroques with a pointy end). As if they used to be pointy but were worn down...

    My Grandmothers Pearls

There are lawyers who specialize in real estate tax appeals. You may want to give such a lawyer a call for some practical advice. Additionally, if there is a law school nearby, they may have pro bono legal services. They may even be able to negotiate with the assessor’s office for you.
