I stand corrected about pearl washing. I personally follow the last on - first off practice, and occasionally wipe my pearl strands with the damp cloth that comes with Pearl Paradise purchases. I don't use sticky lotions or sunscreens when I plan to wear pearls. Hot summers are for diamonds...

I have some round freshwaters. I should take photos. Instead of washing (frankly, I'm puzzled by all the washing), try wearing the pearls. The moisture and oils from you skin may help the lustre. Pearls don't like to be dry, which is why they don't really do well in safe deposit boxes.

I like the bean clasp, so maybe look for some small barrel shapes? Amethyst would be obvious, but maybe tourmaline or fluorite.

I agree with the first pair for lavalier; seems like a natural shape for the setting. The lavalier chain will hide some of the lustre, if you haven't considered that. I'm a yellow gold girl. I have some rose, but I always reach for yellow.

I don't think a shiny clasp will make a difference; people are buying the pearls. When they have the strand restrung with knots, they can clean the clasp before reattaching it. Or, they may swap out the clasp entirely. I found your listing on the auction site, and I suggest you make it clear...
