    "Souffle' Pearls"

We've been using two part epoxy. One woman sent a pair back because the backings came off. Like Ben Franklin's description of the Bald Eagle, she is a bird of dubious moral character so I'm not quite sure what to make of the failure. That exception aside we've had no problems. Incidentally, I...

    A Monster Tahitian Strand

The luster on Sarah's boosted strand is more fetching. It's important to keep in mind that big pearls come from big oysters and big oysters are old. Like all old animals they tend to fade. So producing big pearls with vibrant luster is especially difficult.

Hi Sailor. Come Here often? Hi Sailor. Come Here often? Marianne, When was the last time you just met somebody and said, "Hi Sailor?" :D

I'm not a jeweler and we do almost no design work. But for undrilled souffle studs we use adhesives.

Paspaley Pearl Raffle Donation for Flood Relief

Hmmm. 1 chance in 100. I've played longer odds and won....though nothing quite as fab as an $80K necklace. I not only feel lucky...I am lucky. Anybody going? I could be a buyer.

CPAA Magical Gifts of Nature Display in Tucson

The Tri-Gem piece is beautifully executed. The spider is so well done it gives me the creeps. The birds are the epitome of cute. I feel sorry for people who don't like jewelry. Poor miserable bastards miss all the joys of being human.

New Pearl Farm in WA's Pilbara

If the report is correct, they are seeding next month and harvesting just 14-15 months later. A bit quick it seems. It makes me wonder if this husband and wife team has the capital to make a real go at this. Good luck to them.

    Applying For Membership-----

I think it's very cool that this thread goes all the way back to Pattye's very first post from December of 2007 and that Caitlin was cheering her on back then, too. Great stuff.

Diana: We have a special interest in baroque freshwater and saltwater pearls. I'd be pleased to help you with hanks, loose or finished product.

    "Souffle' Pearls"

Jack Lynch sent me that picture directly a year or two ago and gave me permission to use it. It's the best quality photo I have on file for showing the range of colors and the ideal shape for souffle pearls. I should have credited Jack on the photo. More to the point, it was stupid and sloppy...

Souffl? and the start of a new line!

Shifting Colors Shifting Colors The first two pics feature different types of bead nucleated CFWs topping out at 16MM. The round earring pair up front is 12X13MM bead nucleated. The other pairs are souffles. The outer strand in the 1st pic and the strand on the right in the second are the...
