Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

That is really good! The photo from the auction was certainly not very representative. I hope whoever is buying the strand has seen it IRL before placing the bid.

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

That thread on Pricescope was great! And also, I saw a few strands there with the colours I am looking for so it seems to be possible to find what I want. It is really good to see that Pearl Paradise has so good photos!

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

I am following them both :) I surely know what to ask for when it comes to photos. This was such an "awakening". I never thought it could be this huge difference. It in fact looked like another stand on the other photos I got. As for online vendors I only have experience from Pearl Paradise.

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

It felt too good to be true but I guess it was. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of it worn but I have a few videos, not sure of if they can be uploaded though. Although I am very happy I didn't put in a high bid for the strand, this whole experience makes me feel a bit nervous. I want...

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

Fantastic pearls! These are surely in different colours and that is what I am looking for - the more colourful the better it is!

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

Thank you so much for your replies. i do love what I saw in the first photo. I am dreaming of a really ”colourful” strand and I thought ”Fiji pearls” (I am obviously referring to the colours) was something I could only dream about. In fact I thought the colours were that amazing that I was...

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

Thank you so much Jeremy - I am very happy I got these photos... There are certainly surface issues and although the colours are good, are they so good that it is worth trying to get it for that price (2500-3500 USD and then it is usually around 20% extra plus shipping)?! What I am really...

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

Now I have photos that I believe much better given more true to reality. Do you still believe the colours are considered "good"? It is quite a big difference from the first picture and I honestly don't know what the colours are the Fiji-pearls look like in reality...

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

That is a great advice! Thanks to you I have asked for additional photos. I assume if the pearls are somewhere near the photo and real undyed Tahitian pearls, the price would be rather "good" but it is certainly a risk as there is no guarantee (even if they say the truly believe they are undyed...

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

I asked this "are the photos representative regarding the colour of the pearls?" and this was the reply "And yes the colours are good in the pictures, perhaps even better." I am not sure of if this confirms studio lighting / ideal light conditions and that "what you see is not what you get".

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

It is a good question. I have asked if the photo gives a representative view of the colours. I am still a bit nervous so I don't know if I dare to put in a bid...

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

I think so too, at least based upon the photos. But do I dare to buy in an auction? If they are undyed Tahitan pearls I wouldn't be afraid but there seems to be no guarantee...

Buying a pearl strand in an auction?

It is the colours that caught my interest but I don’t know if the photo shows the true colours. I wish I could see them in person. I obviously wouldn’t be able to tell if they are dyed but at least I would be able to see if the colours are that vibrant in reality.
