The Tridacna Dinosaur Mama with Eggs

This funny family was found all together inside of an unusually big Tridacna clam by a local fisherman, in the Sea of Molucca. The transluscent clam pearls are from 0.2 to 2.5 ct. and Boko itself weighs nearly 100 ct. There were more small pearls but the fisherman didn't pick them all...

Oh yes, Pattye, it is in my hand! Taking pictures, I was suprised to see the "wrapping". At first I thought, it's just dark translucent material ...

    Pigeon Blood from Tridacna?!

This black pearl is surprising when lighted up! It's said to originate from the Tridacna clam and comes from the Sea of Celebes, or in other words from Indonesia, Sulawesi. It's not big, just 0,9 ct and the measurements are 6,5 x 6,3 x 6,0 mm. That's all I can say about it. I have not seen a...

    A strange pearl

Amazing! Thank you so much for such an interesting and proffessional overview! Actually, there is one more questionable article. It comes from the Molucca Sea. What is your opinion about this pearl?

    A strange pearl

This pearl with horns (4.3 gram) comes from Indonesia. The founder bewares it to be from the Pinctada Maxima oyster. Please pay attention also to the patch underside! Can it be a transformation of a cultuured pearl, maybe! The photos are not of the best quality, unfortunately! Many thanks!

Have a look on this "calcareous concretion"!

Thank you so much, Pattye, Katbran, CathyKeshi ea, for your kind comments here! Great to hear that the piece is of interest! By the way, it was already loose, out of the shell. But it was not difficult to discover the place where it was attached to. When sitting on its place, it obviously...

Have a look on this "calcareous concretion"!

Hahaha! Maybe we can start to call it a pearl with the brains!? The size is approximately 45x40x20 mm and here are some more photos. You can see the place where it was attached to. Thank you for your opinions!

Have a look on this "calcareous concretion"!

Hello! I want to share with you here what was recently found inside the Tridacna shell in the waters of the remote island in the Molucca Sea. Can hardly call it a pearl but it's a beautiful formation! It's about 50 gram piece.

It's about 2 gram, about 12 mm diameter. Origin Indonesia. Can it be some kind of pearl?

    Is this wild pearl, maybe!?

This is a tiny pearl from Indonesia, with a weight of about 2 carats. It came to me as a natural one, but lately I was told it's not. Is it true and what is it then? Thanks!
