    Candled Pearls of My Necklace

Thanks for the reply! Your necklace appears new and the pearls look like shell ground. Are they shell pearls (man-made) or Akoya? I can recognize baroque pearls. I had a baroque necklace that had natural pearls and this necklace of mine is not baroque. I know the types of pearls that made my...

    Candled Pearls of My Necklace

It’s partial and only in that one pearl. The rest of the pearls are practically close to round. Thanks for the example! - Hulda

    Candled Pearls of My Necklace

I have one more question. What do you think of the 'ring' that situates near the drill hole (see image below)?

    Candled Pearls of My Necklace

Akoya pearl is described as being white or cream, mostly a product of Japan, also having hints of rosé (pink) or green orient. The Akoya oyster “Pinctada fucata” is relatively small and it doesn’t usually produce a cultured pearl larger than 9 mm. My necklace is from the late 1920's to the...

I apologize for not adding more images. The photo below shows the orient - and the luster is so beautiful and sharp. They are very organic.

Thank you for your reply! I'm not in disagreement with anyone or in any competition. You evaluation means a lot and well respected. However, I will definitely proceed with the x-ray for a firm conclusion. Thank you so much! - Hulda

    Candled Pearls of My Necklace

Thank you for your reply! I’ll be waiting on the expert, Dave. In addition, I scheduled an appointment with the radiologist to have the whole necklace x-rayed in order to confirm each of the pearls.

    Candled Pearls of My Necklace

Thank you for the response! Actually, there is no evidence like that one below in any of the pearls. I own faux pearls and I know the difference. Image "5" is misleading you.

Thank you for your input! I will do the x-ray by next week and then I will confirm it. In the meantime, I've attached another image from the strand.

    Candled Pearls of My Necklace

An expert told me it's Natural and he recommended that I do the x-ray. Compare this with image seven... The area inside has no evidence of a waxy look from calcite layers of growth... no solid nucleus bead underneath a few layers of nacre that identifies with a cultured pearl (click the link)...

    Candled Pearls of My Necklace

Hi, After seeing the thread about “Candled Natural Pearls" I went and did the same thing to each pearl of my necklace. I've attached some images to share my experience in candling my pearls with you. They are between 8 mm and 9.5 mm. What do you think? The next thing I will do is the x-ray...

    Are they real?

Hi, How are you? Hope all is well with you! I’ll try to take new photos with my son camera as soon as I can. Can these images help for now? They are graduated pearls from over 14mm to over 9mm. Thank you so much for your response!

    Are they real?

The necklace belongs to my mother. She's asking if the beads are real because she was told that they are. Thank you in advance for any reply!
