Hi

My partner has a string of pearls as follows:

1. Her recollection/understanding is that they were given/sold to her grandfather whilst on a business trip to Japan by Kokichi Mikimoto himself circa 1952

2. The string is 42 cm long and the pearls are graduated from 3mm to 6mm with a centre single of 7.2mm

3. The clasp which might be silver has a pearl mounted on one side and appears to have an "M" on the reverse with a number engraved but I cannot read it. (going to buy a magnifying glass)

4. The string is not knotted or knot notted or negatively knotted or postively unknotted as you prefer

One view is that it was a gift to visitors, we have another string of round 8+mm opera length with different origins and know the approximate value of same.

We would be interested to know what you think the value of this necklace would be.

Regards

Chris
