    Baby Akoya or FW

Hmm thanks for raising that up. It’s pair with a big 14k clasp. I zoomed in on another side, some appeared to be slightly baroque shaped with variations. What do you think of the close up? And thank you plenty for your feedback 🙏

Is this by Iridesse-Tiffany and Co?

Surely a short lived brand. I got one cluster strand by the same Iridesse brand and they are so beautiful in person.

    Baby Akoya or FW

The seller has such blurry pictures. These look like vintage baby Akoya for me, but the shine in pictures can be deceiving in my experience. Baby Akoya is harder to come across nowadays… hence I think I’ll jump the gun if this cluster necklace is baby Akoya. What do you think?

Is this by Iridesse-Tiffany and Co?

Does anyone here familiar with Iridesse by Tiffany and Co? I think this might be from them but I have seen similar clasp on other brands like Ross Simmon too. Had anyone seen this design from Iredesse? The pink stones are quartz. Million thanks 🙏☺️

Which to keep and which to part? Mikimoto/Southsea/vintage pearls

That’s true! I find the pink tone akoya reflects nicely on the complexion.

Retired Iridesse by Tiffany & Co- Are these FW keshi?

Oh that’s so interesting. I’ve only known keshi as non-nuclear pearls, didn’t know they have multiple harvests. Does the first or second harvest effects/relfects the quality of keshi pearls do you think? Also thank you kindly for taking the time to response and show me the difference. It is...

Which to keep and which to part? Mikimoto/Southsea/vintage pearls

Some of my beloved pearl pieces. It all started with a pair of pearl and aquamarine earrings, along with a matching pendant, gifted to me by my mom over ten years ago. I still wear the earrings regularly. That small gesture sparked my curiosity, and over the years, I’ve slowly built a modest...

    Are these FW/akoya/Ss?

Since I already made mistaken FW pearls with Akoya previous, I’m trying to train my eyes as best to avoid the same mistakes. But some of them are tricky, below are 2 different strands, I thought the roundness and luster could be Akoya, but depends on the angles it could look like eggshape too...

    Tahiti or Dye FW

Oh that’s great! Thank you! Because of the colors I thought they might be dyed FW.

    Tahiti or Dye FW

I’m new on Tahiti an debating between these 2 strands. First glance I thought it was Tahiti, then the more I look the less I’m sure. What do you think? Tahiti/ Dyed FW? 🙏😊

    Judith Ripka Pearl Quality

It’s true these certainly looks like FW, especially paired with a sterling clasp. The clasp is accented with 18k and diamonds so I wonder which line would this particular design would fall into. Thank you for your lovely comments. It’s interesting to learn more about this brand.

    Are these FW/akoya/Ss?

It’s true. There are so much knowledge to learn. The last thing I want is to pay for an akoya price on a FW, no matter how pretty and well matched they are.

    Are these south sea pearls?

They look like SS to me. These clasps I see a lot from sellers selling pearls from Japan, very common even with more expensive varieties, especially the modern strand.

    Judith Ripka Pearl Quality

Has anyone had any experience with Judith Ripka Pearls? From what I can find, it seems like the designer mostly used Fw pearls. The shape and luster on this looks okay but I would really like to buy akoya. Has anyone gotten pearls from this designer? What’s your judgment on the quality? Many...

    Are these FW/akoya/Ss?

Then I overpaid for them. I thought the roundness and the pink overtone resembled Akoya pearls. Thank you for answering.

    Are these FW/akoya/Ss?

Oh I realized I uploaded the wrong picture for the 3rd one. It’s belong to neither the first or the 2nd strand. Do you think the first 2 looks like FW?

    Vietnamese Akoya

Hello from Vietnam here! The pearls I saw selling in Vietnam(locally culture) are of mediocre quality sold for premium price. There are many online shops though that sell pearls from Japan/Europe that are vintage at a much better price and quality. Hope this helps!
