Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Came to post about my 9mm+ baroque blue akoya bracelet. I’m always caught by surprise and fascinated at how the colours of highly saturated pearls change depending on the light. Today, my wrist felt like a mermaid! Also wanted to capture the iridescence on my MOP watch face. These things...

Thanks for your thoughts! I haven’t really gone down the GSS rabbit hole because I tend to think of GSS as a substitute for 18k yellow gold (which I have enough of!) but the champagnes are a different colour category. I think I’m enabling myself here haha.

Thank you Jeremy! Another forum member once used this description and I’ve stolen it for eternity :) I was specifically looking for pearls that weren’t circled nor drop-shaped (and also had decent luster!), so it took a while to find this strand. Whilst some of the individual pearls can be...

These are stunning on you! Love the light champagne colour, I think it’s so flattering and provides a beautiful warm glow. Out of interest, do you also own white-white pearl studs or pinked white studs? How do find them compared to these?

I don’t usually have fully matching sets of jewellery, but this combination of silver Tahitian keshi earrings and Tahitian baroque “boulder”-shaped silvery-blue strand made me feel quite “pulled together”!

Very pretty! Have you considered getting them converted into stud earrings? That may increase the frequency of wear :) I have a few clip-on earrings from the 50-80s (estimated age!) that I had my jeweller attach ear posts to. It made them much more wearable and I don’t need to worry so much...

Love this piece of wisdom! Yes you’re right - and I think “feel better” is just the way to put it, because it’s not necessarily about the aesthetics but the feel/comfort/intangible side too

After a period of not wearing pearls frequently, I’ve been reaching for them since the temperatures have started rising, does anyone else do the same? These Tahitian keshi studs have been my go-to for a couple of weeks now. They’re just so comfortable and I feel cooler (as in, less warm and...

Oh my goodness, please take pics!!! Now I want a longer pair of shoulder dusters hahaha. Wearing them with a strappy or strapless dress is fantastic styling, esp when the pearls reach the collarbone. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing the link on the Tiffany’s necklace. I didn’t know they had a...

I don’t think I’ve shown these before: my pearl shoulder dusters. They’re 12cm long and made from pearls that were removed when I needed to shorten bracelets / necklaces. I like asymmetry and feel like it’s worked out well in this scenario, as the Tahitians are smaller than the blue akoya, so...

Love the pearls with Tiffany necklace! Did you take apart the Tiffany chain yourself and then attach the pearls? Really cool idea!

    Souffle South Sea pearls

I’m gonna need to get me a pair of these!!! That size without the weight would be amazing!

Wore my mismatched monster studs today (16mm+ T and WSS). They need to be worn with a heavy earring back… and annoyingly I didn’t have one to hand so I used a standard WG La Pousette, one of which was lost after one of the babies bashed into my ear. I’ve learned my lesson! Can’t remember if I...

Forever loving the juxtaposition of feminine pearls with rock t-shirts. Featuring tiny ~7mm drop T’s and a T “bubble” bracelet that was assembled from leftover pearls when shortened three T strands (I prefer 16-17 inch lengths rather than 18 inches).

Happy New Year! Here is the pink FW pearl and pink lab sapphire duo which came out on NYE (and we left the party at 8pm with the toddler haha!). I like the combination of green (jadeite) and pink. Close up photos in daylight too. It’s a fun ring!

This is excellent advice, thanks @jeg ! I’m thinking of restringing some of my strands with gemstones, à la @BWeaves style…!

If you could only have five pieces, what would they be and why?

Thanks for your thoughts. Do you feel like you have too many pearls pieces? Have you tried to rehome any?

Hello! It’s a pink FW and not a common size but I think you should be able to find one if you do a search and/or wait long enough. I happened to see this pearl when I was walking around a pearl market in Beijing :) I bought it wanting to create a pair of huge mismatched ear studs with a blue...

Japan Pearl Tour and the 7th Japan Pearl Fair hosted by the Japan Pearl Exporters Association

Thanks for taking us along @jeg ! 1. I own one 45cm strand of 7mm drop shape natural white akoya, one bracelet of 9mm baroque blue akoya, and one pair of studs (around 7-8mm if memory serves me right, these are pinked). 2. Akoya are the gold standard in lustre! And I love the whiteness of...

@Amoreperla @Shani @PearlyLibrarian @Mary-Contrary thanks for your kind words! I bought the pink FW pearl loose with the idea of creating a mismatched pair of studs with a blue SSP… but I couldn’t find a blue SSP big enough. So I went in another direction and tried it in an open cuff ring with...
