Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Lot's of beads - glass cloudberries on kangaroo leather cord, fiery agate & turquoise on coral silk - and one little Fiji Keshi to justify posting here. ;) Hach, I love summery jewellery. *yay, uploading with a different browser worked*

Thank you so much everyone, I enjoy wearing this magical amulet so much!

I only designed it, Sasa Blackoff slightly adapted and made it.

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

I haven't looked at this thread for a while, so scrolling along and seeing all your precious styles is just such a wonderful treat! Today I have been wearing my dew-dripping-brand-new pendant and realized I'd totally "tuck it in" for an occasional peek-a-boo, oh, and of course tiara-ize it -...

    Pearl and Gemstones

Thanks everyone! Today is the day, I'd like to share my one to rule them all: Willow creek jasper mirror slices, SoC mabe, Fiji keshi, mint tourmaline: I collected the pearls&gemstones dreaming about my initial inspiration, designed after looking at lots and lots of pendants and brooches...

BWeaves, I adore your keshi dangle earrings! Also, the herradura-type earring fitting is one of my favorites ever, it just looks so good on (and also as we age).

    My pearls

Oh, Charlotta, thank you so much! What kinds are they? So beautiful! I especially love the pink and the cream ones! I've planted a "Jude the obscure" and a "Alnwick Rose" this fall, hopefully they'll do well in spring.

    My pearls

Love this thread! The pearls, the snowy views...! And I cannot wait to see more of these old roses, I am really into those (and the Austin ones) too.

    Pearl and Gemstones

Just wanted to quickly share what I did this weekend: the nerdy crafter's matchy-matchy jeans jacket! A golden silk and yarn on felt patch. The yarn (left: custom-dyed by a pro and light: colour-stripped + greenish: overdyed by me) :)

Thank you Charlotta, Corvettegirl and Lisa! I have just used a very small silver spring clasp light enough to stay in the back of my neck. That tiny strand is really lovely to wear as it's virtually weightless and I forget that I have it on, even slept in it tonight.

Here is a bit less grainy shot of the tinies.

Beautiful work Jeg! I love all those creamy colours and shapes together. And the tiny Akoyas are spectacular with that big golden one! I took some hours yesterday to knot the tiniest freshwater pearlies onto coral silk. Looking forward to layer them with a longer strand of coral beads. I've...

    Pearl and Gemstones

That is a great idea BWeaves! The high carat gold would look best if actually hand-made too, right? I'll have to save up a little more for that - or work on my soldering skills. :)

    Pearl and Gemstones

What kind of necklace would you guys put it on? I am thinking long enough to comfortably look at it - rolo/belcher oxidised silver maybe?

    Pearl and Gemstones

Thank you! Yes, I really wanted it to have this "unearthened" ancient handmade look. The high carat allows for this.

    Pearl and Gemstones

It's done! Alex cat's eye and Fijian keshi gold pendant. So hard to capture the green on camera but so much fun to watch. And in diffuse lights where the stone does not look its best, the pearl really shines and shows of ALL the colours, they really complement each other.

    parfaitelumiere natural pearl collection

Amazing! The restrung strand ... oh, and that whole collection - just dreamy! thank you for sharing!

MSC, that natural pearl pendant is so lovely! I also love that golden snap to attach them to the necklace ... may I ask where it's from?

    Fun with color palettes!

Yay, it took me so long to find this thread again! I just enjoyed it so so much that I need to bump it up! My profile picture is what resulted from pictures of my SoC mabe following this method :) Attached is the fingerprint palette of my loose SoC pearls. Oh, and I am really tempted by...

    Removing back from a pearl.

Interesting! So far I only used the method of heating up metal tweezers in the (creme brulee burner) flame and then holding the pin and tugging on the pearl until it came loose. The metal transports the heat quickly into the glue and the pearl stays cool.
