    It was, ebay auction.

    Pendant from China arrived

I think so too - I knew it would be freshwater so I wasn't duped, but the dishonesty stinks.

    Pendant from China arrived

I don't mind it being freshwater, I would just prefer it not to be dyed. So a goldish coloured pendant is on my list, but I'll enjoy this one in the meantime.

    Pendant from China arrived

It's nice, but whets the appetite to replace it in due course..... GSS baroque, or some kind of natural coloured pearl in gold tones?

    Pendant from China arrived

Just wondering if anyone can id this? The listing (eBay - I know, I know...) said 8mm golden south sea drop, but I'm not that naive! So tell me, is it dyed freshwater? natural colored freshwater, or fake? I can see one tiny blemish only... Can't tell if its a pit or more like a tide mark from...

Thanks I will! Question though - is there a trick to putting on a pearl bracelet by yourself? I can't push the hook into the clasp with one hand, aarghh!

eBay - is this a freshwater pearl or faux?

I can see the gold is stamped but I don't know if its plated or just an outright lie.

eBay - is this a freshwater pearl or faux?

I was thinking that too, but I guess I was expecting to see some blemishing. If it turns up with none, then perhaps it's faux.

eBay - is this a freshwater pearl or faux?

I just bought one. For the princely sum of $10 I'll take a punt. I'm not sure if its a dyed freshwater, a natural coloured freshwater, or an imitation pearl. Also not sure if its 14kt as stamped either. Oh well, cheap and cheerful until I can afford one I know is actually real...

eBay - is this a freshwater pearl or faux?

I know it's not South Sea, but was wondering if its a real pearl at all? http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/viewitem?itemId=151054307471&index=0&nav=BIDDING&nid=26985174259 I thought I might like a simple pendant in this colour to wear with a chain I have.

What kind of pearls are these???

So if a Freshadama strand in a large size was dyed, what would give it away?

What kind of pearls are these???

Not to hijack, but is there an easy way to tell the difference between Tahitians and dyed freshwater?

    Newbie - first purchase questions

Thank you everyone! We are still getting acquainted. I can see me wearing them most of the coming week and I hope they grow on me even more :) Now I'm already daydreaming for next purchases - sadly depleted funds though!

Lol Sea Urchin, I bought the dangles and bracelet too - still waiting on those :) They are all 8.5-9mm Freshadama. What do you think about the overtone? They don't look overly creamy or rose when I look at them, but against the paper towel they look very creamy to me. I don't really see silver...

Ok, some pictures. Apologies as they are just taken with a phone. They look more silver overtoned when worn, to me the paper towel picture makes them look ivory-rose.

    Newbie - first purchase questions

I'll have to attempt a photo later, as I don't think I can get a nice shot until daylight:). Actually I'm not sure i can get a good look myself until tomorrow as I'm thinking yellowish bulbs inside are not the best for viewing :) So far I'm happy. It may just be the light but I think I see...
