I am going to Fiji for my honeymoon in a few months and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Fijan pearls. It would seem that the industry would be as big as Tahiti given the proximity and similiar climates, but I haven't heard much about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm currently obsessed with finding the perfect black pearl necklace and was wondering if anyone had any pictures of themselves wearing black akoya/freshwater pearls. I'm curious as to how the overtones come through on the skin.

I am interested in buying a black pearl necklace but I don't which kind of pearl I should get. Of course I'd love to get Tahitians, but until I can afford them it looks like I'm "stuck" with akoyas or freshwaters. (Hey - it could be worse. :) ) I know akoyas are traditionally better quality...
