    My "Pearling" Story...

Hello pearly friends. Hope your summer is going well. I'm still waiting on that circle diamond/gold clasp with the screw ends to be fixed at the jeweler. Sometimes I try to explain to him what I need and he, being Korean, isn't always clear on what I have in mind. We'll see how that goes...

    Men Who Wear Pearls!

Thank you for clarifying. Perhaps though, some people in this world may feel like they need to show how much they have or who they are through excess. You never know, there may be some people who think similarly about me when I wear 2-3 layered pearl necklaces and a diamond tennis bracelet. Live...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

If this piece didn't have the "curve" in the big center diamond piece (clearly for a necklace) I'd consider buying it to make a stunning bracelet! Good thing it's curved, because I'd most likely never wear anything this fancy with my work clothing.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    Pearls on Etsy

If you are wanting to know if the pearl is "real" or "genuine"...I would say consider the setting. Most sellers won't put a high dollar pearl (certainly not a perfect one) in a CZ/Gold Filled setting...but that depends on the seller. Many sellers are marketing pearls with less expensive settings...

    Pearls on Etsy

The thing about pearls (or any jewelry for that matter) is that any unusual piece has to "speak to you." This is a lovely and unusual pendant with great color and such a unique and beautiful shape. Unless it is grossly overpriced or out of your budget, it is a win. You can usually tell if it is...

Beautiful chain with emeralds and pearls. That is a LOT of wire wrapping, but truly sets off the pendant/enhancer. Every time you show that I am in awe!

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Absolutely, wear pearls every day, no matter what clothing you're wearing. I'm wearing my 6mm Miki's on the 3mm Akoya 51" strand, my diamond earring jackets with 7mm Akoya studs, and of course, my @jeg inspired net pendant with a diamond studded South Sea 13mm to work with stretch capri pants...

What in the heck are these?

@jeg referred to them as a pearl "lei", which totally fits. Thank you for the information about the 2nd and 3rd harvests! So interesting. I have some like these that are flat and rectangular. I believe they were advertised as "tissue nucleated", would that be the 2nd harvest? I also have a...

    Dyed FWP or tahitian?

Anything potato shape with or without rings, no matter what color, always turns out to be freshwater. At least that has been my experience.

    My "Pearling" Story...

I posted this on the "Show Us Your Pearls in Action!" Thread, but wanted it on my history thread as well. Here is the 3-strand Akoya 3-Color strand I completed. I found the silver strand knotted and the blue strand with no knots. I already had the historic graduated white strand. When...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

I love showing people who don't know much about pearls all the different shades, types, sizes and stringing techniques for pearls. So, I decided to string 3 almost identical size graduated Akoya strands together. I had to order 2" of additional Blue Akoya (I couldn't find enough of the silver...
