Helen, what a find! That is a dream ring to have in your collection! I love the creamy look of Tay River pearls and all the engraving really enhances their appearance. I'd like to see hand shots!
Thank you, 2th!! That strand is made of pipis - it's not a full length strand, but long enough to double wrap my wrist or attach to a shorter chain to wear as a necklace. :)
I think soldering high carat gold is waaaaaaaaaaay easier than lower carat gold or silver. There are many vendors of Indian (eastern not Native American) that sell 22k gold chains, that sell online.
Thank you all, you're words are so kind!!
amti - yes, there are Dave's pearls in the locket, as well as pearls from Laurent and Douglas.
Dave's pearls are also featured in the long tin cup with the rough diamonds.
I've been really lazy about updating this thread! Here are some items I've made in the last few months featuring pipis, Dave's California mussel pearls, Mississippi river pearls, and Pteria sterna pearls. :)
Ah so many gorgeous pearls! Those Fiji's are mind blowing, Jeg!
I made these tiny (3mm) pipi studs a couple months back to wear in my second piercing, but today I added a couple of sapphire dangles that I usually wear with leverbacks for a lil extra.
Thanks, morella! The dog clip and the fob attachment part that I made the pendant with are both antique. There's a ton out there though on ebay, etsy, and similar sites!
