Necklace and bracelet mixed pearl ruby

A general rule in design is odd numbers look better. So 1 with 3 pearls generally looks better... but not always. Also you might like the more random look instead of exact look...random is harder. But you also need to decide if you want the front to be more of a statement (as Pearl dreams...

    Dye still coming off...help!!!

I know these are dyed freshwater...but they had gook on them and I washed them to find out that the dye was not only coloring the soap & water...it left blue dye stains on the paper towel I was drying them on. So I washed them 14 more times.... (Twice a day, plus soaking for 7 days.). The dye...

    Are they real

I can tell by the holes that they are imitation....but if you think you would wear them...you can restring pretty easily...no knots...bead cups make it easier. The big problem is those hooks tend to come loose...so you need to love them to restring!

    Are these dyed freshwater?

Having too many pearls, I have sold some... I have learned a few things: 1: If you can find names like Honora or LUC (or any others) they will sell better. 2: The clasp metal is very important and you need to look for 925, sterling or 10k or 14k or 1/20 14k... so you can put that in the...

    Freshwater kind?

Yes...fashion does effect pearl value! 10 years ago people were not wearing or buying graduated akoya pearls...but in the last few years they are...so up in value, for now. BUT it sounds like you should take the Pearls as One course...you will learn tons! There is a coupon somewhere.

Please can someone help identify these pearls possibly help with an estimate value.

Having moved a ton...my insurance asks that I specify pieces over $2000...so that would be helpful for replacement value! I would keep that together. The replacement cost can change up or down with fashions...but a base is good to know. For selling: in my collecting, I have sold pearls off...

Found pearls that belonged to great grandmother do they look real Ty in advance

The big problem is that fashions come & go. 10 years ago, a pearl restringing company talked about that they could not sell graduated vintage akoyas...that people did Not want to restring them even...but in the last 2 years...they are getting lots of restringing orders & any estate ones fly off...

Found pearls that belonged to great grandmother do they look real Ty in advance

Actually it isn't sneaky...it is the history of Japan and trade. Japan was rather closed to trade until post WWII...then they sold pearls to certain groups only (a peace agreement). So pre-WWII and even some post...the easiest way to get a pearl necklace was to use man made pearls...but the...

    uodora?

From my experience: Saltwater pearls really pick up their surroundings... I have 1 strand of Tahitians that I really hate on me... I love them to look at...so I am enjoying them that way! I also have bought from Udora...because you really do get the ones that you pick out! I have very...

I have NOT seen that "pac-man" mark before. There are on-line shopping networks: sometimes jewelry is made for a designer by several companies, but that carry marks that seem to be unrelated to the designer that sells the jewelry or sometimes it is double marked. I had to sell jewelry from a...
