    South Sea earrings?

Here they are next to a SSP drop necklace (and I’m 100% certain, it’s one of my few pieces I’ve ever bought new). The earrings are very satin-looking.

Yesterday’s pearls—thrifted 14k gold & Tahitian circle pearl necklace. I’m going to make myself a matching bracelet & earrings!

    South Sea earrings?

Auction for less than the melt of the gold, they didn’t know anything about the pearls. I’ll fess up to habitually buying pearls from questionable sources, I generally buy for melt or less. Since no one outside of the forum seems to know anything about pearls, it’s pretty handy. I’ll find a...

Stringing Tutorial with photos: Stringing on Serafil, Beaders Secret & Power Pro

Thanks for posting this tutorial! It was so helpful and enjoyable. I used some extra vintage pearls & fundings and made coordinated bracelets for myself & a bestie, I’d never had these made if I had to pay to have them strung. So neat!

Is this finally what I think it is? 🧐🫣

I have akoya with pave diamonds from them in silver, including a pendant. They do have one Tahitian on their site in silver at the moment. They rotate their designs a lot. These are the Pick-A-Pearl guys, they absolutely have simple pendants in silver at their stores.

    Weird thrifted pearls

I need focus group help 😂 Put one of these in the middle of the strand? It will be .5 mm bigger so it will stand out but not crazy. Or wrong color? It’s so hard to find naturally blue, round akoya that size, omg. I’m going to have to have this appraised & insured when I’m done.

    South Sea earrings?

These are 9.2 mm according to my calipers and set in 14k gold. They pass the tooth test. They’re very round! South Sea or are they gold akoyas? Thank you guys, I appreciate being able to ask stuff like this somewhere without having to drive 2 hours each way to ask the nearest gemologist.

It’s a really common mark & I wish I knew what it meant!

    Weird thrifted pearls

Here they are, freshly washed. In some lighting they’re a pretty uniform silvery-lavender. I need to decide what I want to do with them—string them into a shorter, ombré necklace is probably the answer, and then use the leftovers for other projects. I can’t believe these were $10.

Today it’s a thrifted necklace, pearls with crystal beads. I feel like I found a Kojima piece in the wild, thrifted in Tucson. It’s a fun piece, I love it. Not pictured are gold, diamond & Akoya Maui Divers earrings I scored on eBay for the price of the backs. It’s amazing what pearls on the...

    Weird thrifted pearls

This is really inspiring! Mine is 36” so I can do a lot with it. I’m thinking maybe I’ll get some solid blue akoyas and make an ombré strand with it. How cool would that be?

    Weird thrifted pearls

wow!!! Thank you so much! I’m stunned this is the natural color. I’ll definitely wash and restring them. I bought a kit from Patty and am practicing on an old bracelet today. Maybe I’ll pick a fun color of string to highlight the interesting color of the pearls!

    Weird thrifted pearls

I thrifted these so I’m not in them for much and I mostly got them because they’re mystifying to me. They pass the tooth test and look like akoyas—not one potato! But they’ve got a sterling spring ring clasp and it’s like someone spilled ink on them? Poor dye job? The coloring on them is so...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Thank you! It’s so unique, I had it made because I’ve never seen a ring like that before. Here’s a necklace I wear often, it’s sterling with keishi and a Tennessee pearl. The pearl looks almost like a crystal. I’m not sure what kind of keishi they are, I think Tennessee Edit: I found my...
