    Id two tahiti? pearl pendants

The white pendant could be Akoya, it appears to be nicely round. In my opinion, the black pendant is dyed freshwater, not Tahitian.

Found these in a jewellery box.

I have used Dr. Bronner's Baby Unscented Pure Liquid Castile Soap to gently clean pearls. Jewelry loupes are inexpensive, I got one on Amazon.

    What are they...50's - 60's

I agree with all of the above ... these pearls look like baroque Akoya, which would be less expensive than round Akoya.

Where to buy loose gemstone beads?

If you're looking for inexpensive gemstone beads, try Goodwill or local charity shops. You'd be surprised what people donate. You can take them apart and use what you like.

    Great Aunt Catherine’s pearls

They're pretty and remind me of my grandmother's pearls. How long is the strand? Is the clasp marked in any way? My guess is that they are Akoya.

    Looking for Large Pendants?

    Looking for Large Pendants?

A lot of the jewelry on television and in movies is fake, simply based on cost and security. There are so many people on a set that it's easy to lose track of things. There are exceptions, obviously -- I've heard that the diamond bracelets worn by Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard were from her...

    The New York Times, Kamoka

I can attest to their social media videos. I subscribe to Kamoka on YouTube -- short videos, usually showing a single pearl being harvested. It's a brilliant strategy and addicting. I really enjoy the underwater photography as well.

14k clasp indication of quality or what is the worse mismatch of clasp and pearls you have seen and why is it bad?

I agree, you want your clasp to blend with the strand, unless it's Cartier level, in which case you might wear the clasp in the front, as a focal point. I think overall, you want your clasp to be secure. Lots of people buy old pearls on eBay, solely for a pretty, vintage clasp.
