@BWeaves - still loving your layering looks. All the different colors and styles are perfection. @eolian pearls - definitely a great match for the pendant! I need bracelets. Maybe I will check out that shop. Here's my look today. Some sage green tahitian studs that match my shirt and my rope...

Are these real Mikimoto? Doesn't have M on clasp, only ‘Sterling’. They are grity on my teeth. My deceased god mothers. So can't ask.

I know nothing about mikimoto, but hopefully my comment will bump the thread a little and someone else can offer some guidance!

Oh yes, those are gorgeous @heartofawareness. They definitely do look more pastel next to the shorter strand. I think we need comparison shots of these next to some darker tahitians to reeeeally know 🤭🤭 If you've posted a comparison before I don't think anyone would mind another! I haven't...

@CatMom I wish I could pull off lavenders and coppers! My skin tone is just not right. Your pearls are beautiful and look great on you. Were you able to catch Hisano's pop-up?

@eolian I actually teared up a little when I read what you said about my bluish T strand! Of course I love all my pearls, but it warms my heart to think that someone else appreciates them as much as I do. Thank you for telling me that, truly. It has made my day (probably week)! Also, I am...

Lovely pearls heartofawarenss, catmom, jeg, and bweaves! I wore some bead nuked freshwaters with ripply surfaces from Pure Pearls from several years back. Not sure of the mm size but they are big.

I can't describe the unbridled joy seeing everyone's pearls brings me whenever I click into this thread! For me today it's a strand of circled drop shaped silvery blue tahitians (from PP) and the new light-colored little tahitians from Hisano's Pop Up Event.

@jeg the shape and color of the SS pearls is heavenly. They layer wonderfully with the akoyas either way! And the little h earrings are probably my favorite design Hisano made. I am very excited to see what pieces she has for us to see next week! I think I will play with the tahitians tonight...

@heartofawareness yes, I do have a drill and have drilled pearls myself but I have never done pearls quite like this before. It does make me a bit nervous lol. I may buy some cheap bead nucleated freshwater pearls that aren't drilled yet for practice. Everything I've done so far have been...

Restringing Vintage Pearl Necklace - Questions

If it was me I would knot them between each bead just for the sake of keeping them safe since they have sentimental value. If you want them to look as they did when she wore them, only knot at the ends. If you use good materials and restring often the risk of breaking and losing any pearls...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Holy moly! There are some real standouts in those. I don't think I've seen an akoya pearl as dark as the 3rd from left in the 2nd bracelet (first picture). And it looks like some of them may lean a little pistachio colored or is that just my screen? Swoon! I would absolutely die for a strand of...

@CatMom I get in those kind of knotting moods too! I need to get magnetic clasps for bracelets. Lovely necklace and bracelet! The colors on the bracelet are really pretty. @heartofawareness I thought at one time I was done with tahitians. Wrong. Very wrong! They are mesmerizing!

@jeg yes, my package from Takahashi also went through Chicago customs. I bought two loose tahitians. I didn't even have him drill them because I am undecided on what I want to do with them yet. I got the first and third pearl from the card on the left. I somehow have not taken any pictures of...

@CatMom I love the pearls and gemstones together! Are they pink sapphires? @jeg those are huge akoyas! What size are they?? Also, seeing your pearls from Takahashi influenced me to purchase from him. 10/10 experience and the pearls I bought got to me from Japan in 6 days! That is crazy fast.
