    Are these real?

That's exactly what it is. It was a widely-used clasp by Honora and Fortunoff, among others.

Love all of the light and airy pieces you've been wearing. It's been so humid in NY that I can't tolerate anything heavier than a tiny Akoya keshi strand.

    Tahitians?

Just a thought. If you really like the pearls and/or can't return them, what about repurposing them into a multistrand bracelet? You can go as wild as you like with the thread color, and you'll wear the piece where you can see it easily.

Thank you. As soon as I saw the wrap my fingers were flying across the keyboard ("It's Mine)!

I know I need better light and longer arms, but I was very excited about this. The wrap is vintage Akoyas and tiny tourmalines from Kojima's live event at PP. I bought it to pair with my grandmother's vintage Akoyas. The strand is about 32" long. The pearls are not graduated and are nicely...

I have a lot of catching up to do with everyone's posts. I have a few goodies from the lives. Here are the baroque blue Akoyas. The knots are dark blue. I wore them today with a necklace affectionately known as "Spike". They photographed very differently in varied lighting.

A BBA strand quite a bit more dramatic than the original one. It will look lovely in the Ban Island light. Are we allowed to bring a pearl or two to the island?

I made a Last Chance trade-up. Ban Island? I'm in the process of establishing residency so that I can get my Pistachio Card and one day become a citizen.

Love it! It's very similar to a sketch I made for mabe earrings years ago. I haven't decided what to with my SOC pearl yet. Wear it in the best of health!

I see a trip to Ban Island in my future. I already troll the sitewide sale on a daily basis.

    Eureka, Elizabeth Strack's Pearls

They are definitely charging a premium, but I've been hunting this book for several years. I ordered once from someone who didn't have it (got a refund) and was ordering from Europe when Covid shut international shipping down. Karl Fischer never turned up in any search results, unless it was...

    Eureka, Elizabeth Strack's Pearls

I found my Holy Grail, Elizabeth Strack's Pearls. The good news is that there are more books in stock in both English and German. The price is CHF 150.00 (roughly $168 USD) plus shipping to NY, CHF 69.00 ($77 USD 😲). The total so far, $245 USD. I don't know if I'll have to pay customs-...

I tuned in because I love looking at pearls and it was tempting, but I haven't even seen my Japan live event purchases yet! I have packages coming today and Friday, and they include a BBA strand that I was wait-listed for. Any activity now would definitely send me to Ban Island! You really have...

Beautiful. I can't believe there was ever a time I didn't care for Tahitians. I had never seen lustrous Tahitians with colorful tones, so I thought they were dark and boring. Forgive me! And those are mighty fresh crabs you've got there.
