Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

lary007 your soufflé pendant is so pretty and looks crisp and cool to wear in the heat. Charlotta, I grew up in a home without air conditioning, so you can get used to (or should I say survive) the heat and humidity, but it isn’t fun. Now, though, I just run from air-conditioned home to...

    My pearls

Charlotta, I’m both sorry for the stress you and your family have gone through and happy that the surgery went well. I hope he has a fast and successful recovery and can go home to your mother soon. Knotting pearls, like knitting, is rather zen, keeping the mind occupied but still free to wander.

BWeaves, the everything bagel/tin cup/pistachio akoya combo just glows against that linen. Beautiful! 86CG, it may be hot but you look super cool in your Fiji pearls.

I haven’t gotten an email about any of the current releases, and they’ve been random in the past, too. I can’t do any buying this time anyway, but I always enjoy looking.

Such a lovely bunch pearls and ladies. 86CG, your ombré strand is beautiful, but I think I like your green Tahitian strand best. Katbran, i’ve never seen a Fiji strand in person, but they look great on you and as far as necks go, you’re looking good. jeg, words can’t describe how beautiful...

Purple baroque strand from Kongs Pearl

Cricketbug, my strand is 9-10mm and, no, I haven’t worn it yet. I haven’t even walked it around the house to find the best light. Either Suchi has found perfect light for photographing her strand or mine is not quite as intensely colorful, although all the same colors are there. Mine also...

Cathy, are you using Apple devices? That happened to me, to my horror, and I lost an enormous number of emails that I had been saving. I wish Incould remember how I handled the problem, but I changed settings so that my desktop, iPhone, and iPad no longer were linked together.

Should I buy these Mikimoto earrings?

I can’t read Korean, but the studs look very small, like 5mm. Pearls. If you think 5mm pearls are worth $200 and would wear them, go for it. Personally, I’d rather have good, larger studs than small Mikimotos.

Purple baroque strand from Kongs Pearl

I bought a strand of the purple/green pearls from Kongs, too, and had to run pull them out of the drawer and sniff them. Luckily, no fishy smell. I haven't worn them yet, but here they are with purple studs from Wendy at Pearlescence.

Miki Akoya and Coral Necklace - or is it?

Caveat: I’m a relative newcomer to pearls and far from an expert, but there sure seem to be a lot of flaws on those pearls and some of them don’t even appear round. That isn’t something I’d expect to find in Mikimoto pearls, even their lesser grade.

Charlotta, it is heavy for a single pearl, but no heavier than a strand of 7-8mm pearls.

Happy Easter from Paris! It will be another 80-degree day in Paris. I discovered that my hotel bathroom makes a good light-box with the diffused light from the window. I’m wearing 4-5mm lavender pearls from Kongs with the comet pearl pendant from Kojima and (not pictured) lavender metallic...

Nothing looks better with a black dress than white pearls, unless it’s a polka-dot dress, which you also wear well. We are flirting with nearly 80 degrees in Paris today so I am wearing metallic white cfw drops from PP and a metallic white fireball on a gold cable with a b&w striped St. James...
