For restringing...you would need someone who can bead weave and follow patterns. There are youtube & websites...but you need someone who is very skilled. (Most of these are from around your area...not the US.) My US great grandmother made several of these type of necklaces in the 1915-1925...

Older Tasakai Maker's mark. Back & Front. Tasaki says that they only use the stamp as authetication.

Fuji Pearl...I don't know much about them. They were around early with K. Mikimoto. They started using a trademark in 1948, Registered it in 1959. So previous to '59 they had a different clasp. It was renewed in 1979. But it isn't clear when they stopped operating.

I also found that Seiko made pearl necklaces as well. A bird flying (Swallow?) in a rectangle.

Looking at eBay and $25 NEW strand of 7mm "akoya" with gold filled clasp.... it still seems like they would be round freshwaters. Is there any good tells for picking out if they are round freshwaters? (I am not buying these, just trying to work on my skills)

Oh, I see how they were made now. I would try a very strong magnet to see if they were gold filled or plated. (Gold isn't magnetic). Are you going to restring them?

A technical question: do you have tips for figuring out the strands for your American Flag necklace or any other triple strand one? Do you have a bead board that is helpful or something else?
