Help me decide - size of strand

I'm getting ready to spend my stimulus check... (Hubby doesn't know that I plan on spending the entire check, duh! I guess I'll face the music later) I am eyeing the Natural Multi-color Akoyas from TPO, 7.5mm-8mm or 8-8.5mm. Here are the links: 7.5-8mm =...

    Some of my pearls

Photo re-take. I think this shows the beauty of the pearls a little better. Oh, and some additional info, the greens are 8-9mm and the chocolates are 8.5-9.5mm. I also got matching earrings for each strand too.

    Some of my pearls

Hi Jerin, I got the green FW from PP also. Same purchase. Looking at the photos now, i really don't think the photos do the pearls justice. I'm going to try to take them on the windowsill today. :-)

    Some of my pearls

Well, it's about time I posted photos for everyone. I guess it's better late than never. I went and visited PP back in march. Had a lot of fun looking at Tahitians with Mia and ended up getting the March special (FW chocolate). I've finally taken some photos. I don't have much digital...

PP's March special is here - Chocolate FW

Got my March specials Got my March specials Hi all, I was actually in LA 2 weeks ago and was able to visit PP's showroom. It was sooo much fun and Mia was very helpful. I did end up buying the March specials - FW necklace, and I chose the one that were more red than brown. They had to...

    Pearl Colors

The colors are gorgeous. . . I learned something new - Tahitian pearls in light blue. On a side note - I'm going to LA tomorrow, am hoping to get the opportunity to stop in the PearlParadise show room and check out the March specials and the Freshadamas. Very exciting! Reiah

    Storing pearls in a safe

That is an excellent idea! Why didn't I think of that? :) I'm okay with that as all of my pearls except one were purchased by me. I guess that for some others, it might not work cuz they have pearls with sentimental value and those pearls are irreplaceable. When you insure it, do you put...

How do you care for your freshwater pearls?

Caitlin, What a great suggestion! I will learn how to string my pearls, and eventually, maybe making my own earrings. I'll check if my local beading store has classes and materials. If no classes, I am sure I can learn through books or online websites/videos. I pretty much learned how to...

How do you care for your freshwater pearls?

Jerin, Thanks for reminding me about security. I hadn't thought of that! My current jewelry box locks, so at least the pearls are kind of safe. Well, just the top drawer locks, and it's really getting full. Perhaps I need a new lockable solution. Back to the drawing board... Pearl folders...

How do you care for your freshwater pearls?

I had the same question - and was directed to this thread. ;) I'm running out of space in what my hubby calls: a "rather large" jewelry box. And I want to be able to see my pearls at a glance and choose the one I would wear. I do keep the nice boxes and bags that I receive, but I don't keep...

Wonderful Obssession, Terrible Addiction - Pearls

Another Libra here... Off topic - but how do all the collectors store your pearl strands? Really large jewelry boxes? I'm finding that I need to make room for my strands...

Misc question - why cut up the shell?

Hi, I was just watching the video on YouTube that pearl paradise put together- the one at Fukui Shell Factory. It shows the process of cutting the shell into strips, then into cubes. Does this become the pearl nucleus of an Akoya pearl? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm only asking to...

    Question on earrings

PandaExpress- Thanks for the tip on reading other threads -- I am now better educated about those 2 websites and will remain skeptical. I have accumulated most of my pearl earrings from Macy's one day sales. LoL. I've checked pearl oasis and american pearl too. So I'll let everyone knows...

    Question on earrings

I'm a lurker, been reading all your posts. Thanks so much for all the information! I collect Pearl earrings, my favorites are anything that dangles. I've been browsing the online pearl stores a lot and have found that 90% of decorated earrings come in Akoya and not FWCP. I really like all...
