Harvest Strand - the Tahitian sampler

Congratulations on your harvest strand! I love the clasp, very matching! Every time I see someone else's harvest strand I start thinking it's time to get my own))

    Tahiti natural fancy colour sets

LondonPearl, may I ask what do you plan to do with those sets? I mean they are multicolour, are they arranged for any particular project? I have three very vividly coloured tahitian pearls that I think to set in a three stone ring, but would be cool to hear your ideas about your sets :)

    Tahiti natural fancy colour sets

My favourite one would be the lilac one (middle row, the third card, top right pearl) - a definitely rare to see colour in tahitians :)

Here's another, but this time I honestly have no idea. Tahitian or not?

Oh dear, I haven't been on the forum for ages! And right on popping in seeing this thread :) Photos are really tricky on the internet, this is a vivid example. If compared with an actual tahitian blue strand (that was posted here), well, it IS similar in the photos :D (I'm so sorry to my...

what a difference a watermark makes...

Hi Sarah, not sure whether it was already suggested, maybe instead of the watermark just taking photos on the logo paper? Then the pearl will stand out across the logos, it will not 100% guarantee not stealing your photos but it will make it much more difficult for most..

How do I know it's not shell pearl?

Hi, and welcome to the forum) If the pearls are from a trusted vendor, as you say, may I ask why do you doubt their nature?.. Reputable vendors wouldn't stake their reputation. To tell fake pearl from real pear is easy: just rub two pearls against each other gently, if the contact is completely...

    gold peach metallics FWP

I also got confused on seeing that white strand described as golden peach)) glad it was resolved with PP) I guess I could also contribute with photos of natural metallics: here are the 2 natural colour strands I have, one multicolour and another one that I would call apricot/peach/golden range...

    Let it be rainbow!

Purranha, CathyKeshi, BWeaves, Pearl Dreams, SunSeeker, kalmen22, thanks everyone! The pearls in the finished bracelet are from different sources: most are from Jac (most of loose tahitians I use are from him, haven't found a better reliable source yet)), from his multicolour mixes, then the...

    365 Days of Pearls

Ok, here is the question. Does any have a NON pearl colour blind husband?)) Because mine is not only colour blind, he is also size blind in terms of pearls :D :D That ombre strand from Golay is my favourite too. An amazing strand!

Need a picture of an Akoya pearl with bead showing

Thanks Jeremy.. then I don't understand (but still worried with :D) the statement about the money going into the drain if spent on akoyas.. Was it an expressive exaggeration, Cees?.. I was going to get a strand of "aurora effect" certified akoyas.. But I don't want to think it would be a waste...

    Let it be rainbow!

Thanks everybody)) the piece had been finished) in the end it can be worn as a bracelet and as a necklace) I think I will shorten the chain though, to make it from the current 24 inches total length to about 20 inches :) strung on "Fig" colour Beader's Secret that brought out the colours better...

Matched FW metallic pairs go into... a necklace! or 3 necklaces))

BWeaves, GemGeek, thank you ladies) it looks like all the three strands are going to stay together in the hands of one owner)) hanadama, the tongues of the clasps in the smaller diameters were too thin to machine polish. The smallest ones (from the 6mm clasps) were bent under the torch with...

Need a picture of an Akoya pearl with bead showing

Another question. Why they don't grow thicker nacre in akoyas? I mean if keeping some part of the harvest, say, 3 times longer - will it reach 1mm nacre thickness or will it be destroyed/ deformed/ spoilt etc with "overripe"?..
