    My pearls

Ahhh, isn't it nice to have feline quality control! I like the skulls, too. Only one of our 3 cats shows much interest in pearls, thank goodness.

Trying to find replacement seed pearls for antique piece.

Lisa c, the back of the turquoise watch is marked sterling, so I assume it is gilt or vermeil. It has never worked; I bought it for the enamel. The art deco watch does work, and is fun, except the chain is so long it is a bit of trouble. I often wonder about the people who wore my older pieces...

Trying to find replacement seed pearls for antique piece.

I was looking all over for this watch... finally found it. The back is in lovely shape, but the front is missing some enamel. I took a close up so you can see the engraving on the metal under the enamel.

How odd, the locket and the other side of the watch didn't load. Try again:

Trying to find replacement seed pearls for antique piece.

Lovely pieces, gigi, lisa c! I love enamel. I have an art deco enamel watch, which is lots of fun, but on a long chain it's hard to wear -- it keeps banging into things. The locket I think has faux pearls, and the lace pin real ones.

    PP Vault Sale Loot

I didn't mean to, honest, but I got one of the rose pearls, and it is a real beauty! It is hard to get a good photo that captures the color. Thank you Jeremy!!!

    Linda's Lowly Beading Adventures

I used the heavy beader's secret, and a doubled thread, because the holes in the beads were pretty large. I figured that small beads + big knots = plenty of thread needed. This necklace has about 184 beads, and knots, and my purple pearls have 60 or so, or half as many. I rarely actually...

    Linda's Lowly Beading Adventures

Pattye, when you say 4 times, is that single or doubled? I have been doing about 4 times single, which is 2 times, doubled. I also found out the hard way that you need more than 4 times for a bracelet, or you won't have enough extra to put in the final knots! I used 5 or maybe 6 times for this...

Thanks, everyone! Charlotta, you sound like you make coffee like a co-worker of mine did, as a friend said: "she makes coffee you can sink your teeth into!" I've finally strung the strand of souffle pearls I got at my first ruckus (2017), but it's really hard to get a good picture: My husband...

    Linda's Lowly Beading Adventures

Yes, jeg, with the right equipment (not necessarily expensive) coffee roasting is quite easy. We like a light roast, and under the circumstances can no longer go to Trader Joe's. i got started a few years ago, when we visited some friends who are enthusiastic gardeners. They showed us their...

    Linda's Lowly Beading Adventures

Thank you, everyone!!! I've been working on this next one for some time. The aquamarine beads are pretty small. The necklace is shorter than I planned, because I didn't allow as much string for the myriad knots as I should have. Lesson learned.
