You can tell be the 'eggy' shape.

That's a really cheap looking clasp and a poor knotting job. The clasp is about the only way you can claim Mikimoto origin and you still can't trust that because the clasp could be fake or the pearls swapped.

Some of the really long pearls makes it very clear. FW can be satiny too. It depends on the quality. It's not easy to find FW with sharp luster.

I'll give it a shot. The first image is so overly processed that I can barely look at it without squinting :-) Initial guess Tahitian but it's difficult to see much but a round shape and some dark colors. The second looks like the flat shape of FW. The third looks to me like poor quality...

If you paid $250 they could never be South Sea pearls, not at $600 either. It's easy to get fooled (more than me ended up on this site for that reason :-)) so it's always worth it to stop and leave. Then go back to the hotel and do even a little research such as checking out prices and colors...

If you want to see examples of the end product for keshis, try to browse through the thread "Show your pearls in action." Personally I have a short strand of tiny Akoya keshi that I use for layering or on its own if I want things very simple.

If you don't love them on you and can return them - do it. The money can be used for pearls that you love to look at both on and off you. "Settling" in terms for pearls usually ends up being very expensive :-) Because you buy something better. Don't try to fix what doesn't feel right to start...

My impression was that the survey was about finding out if we would be influenced to buy pearls if we saw them being worn by influencers on social media and I don't think any of us here would - in the UK or not. We are most certainly influenced by what other forum members wear and post, though...
