    South sea pearls?

Definitely not dyed because dyed pearls have different looks. This particular one is placed with natural-colored golden south sea pearls. There are naturally occurring exotic-colored south sea pearls but they're rare.

    South sea pearls?

I've seen one peach colored golden south sea pearl in a shop in Antwerp. If it weren't sold by a reputable pearl vendor I'd mistake it as a nuked fwp, really.

Thanks Lilpearl, Pearlie Sue, eolian pearls and lisa c for your compliments. I'd prefer to take pictures of my pearls than wear them LOL. It snowed here and I used this opportunity to take pictures of my pearls. Nothing is a better light box for pearl photography than a garden full of snow. The...

    South sea pearls?

Hi Pearlie Sue, it's a lovely necklace you got. I'm pretty sure they're bead nucleated freshwater pearls, the colors are obviously the typical colors of freshwater pearls from China. The first picture says it all. You can find the corrugated clasp in many pearl necklaces sold on eBay and Etsy...

    Chinese freshwater akoya's

Vietnamese akoyas are as pretty as the Japanese ones. There's a thread here on the forum which discusses the thickness of Vietnamese akoya's nacre. If you want a necklace, tell Cees you want a necklace so he can get you a strand of akoyas, you pay a wholesale price which is a lot cheaper than if...

    Chinese freshwater akoya's

HI Rianne, I speak Dutch (Flemish actually). If I were you, I'd buy my pearls from Cees Van Oije since you live in the Netherlands anyway. He's reliable and has an eye for God's quality pearls.

    Chinese freshwater akoya's

Interesting info, PD. I thought the smallest nucleated FWP was about 8mm. Smaller FWPs are not nucleated, so I thought. Sigh the pearling technology evolves so fast!
