    pearl bracelet

I doubt the clasp is diamonds. Probably CZs, because the pearls are inexpensive freshwater pearls from China. The pearls probably cost between $10-$20 (I'm totally guessing but wanted to give you a feel for the cost since you asked). Enjoy the wearing the bracelet and don't worry about it.

Natural Saltwater Pearls – Family Collection Since Late 1700s

I was also thinking the pearls look like cultured freshwater pearls from China.

Is Mikimoto Brand New Worth it?

Mikimoto has different qualities of pearls. "A" is their LOWEST quality. Miki's quality range goes -A, A, A+, -AA, AA, AA+, -AAA, AAA, AAA+. While Miki's are good quality, you can get a Hamadama or Tenyo strand from Pearl Paradise for much less money than Mikimoto sells a comparable strand...

    Paris: City of Pearls Exhibition

I just found this blog post on The Royal Watcher blog. The Paris: City of Pearls Exhibition has lots of photos showing amazing natural pearls. Scroll down to see closeups of some amazing pieces. There's one necklace that I think may be natural Sea of Cortez pearls. I especially like the sheep's...

    Conundrum on Small Pearl Earring

The top of the pearl in the Fred Ward photo is also round and has a smooth surface. Both your pearl and the Fred Ward pearl curve in at the base near the metal. I suspect the pearl nacre next to the metal reacted more with the stomach acid.

Have fallen in love with pearls since inheriting some :)

They look lovely restrung. Wear them often!!!

    What happened to my pearl

I was going to ask if you wore this ring every day. It looks like you've worn the nacre right off the shell bead nucleus. The pearls have been loved to death (and I mean that in a nice way!). Did you remove your ring for washing dishes and doing cleaning? If not, then the detergents and...

    Conundrum on Small Pearl Earring

I wish I could remember which of my pearl books I saw this story in. Your earring looks exactly like a photo of an earring that had been through the digestive tract of a dog. The unfortunate owner had their dog eat one of their earrings. They retrieved the earring after it had been pooped...

OOOOh wow. JEG, is that stacked necklace heavy? Asking for a friend ;) I'm fully Kojima chested today. Beachy Tin-Cup. This necklace gets way more wear than I thought it would. It's just the right amount of funky summer style. The Devine Sarah pendant. Summer Rainbow and Winter Snowman...

Pearly Librarian: Ooo, those are pretty blues. Lots of color in them. Today I'm wearing The Devine Sarah pendant from Kojima. This pearl is insane. Huge and rainbow striped. Very thick nacre.

    Genuine Mikimoto?

I don't think you need to get them appraised. Get them cleaned and restrung and enjoy wearing them. Don't save them for special occasions. Wear them all the time.

JEG: Oh noes! Having a Bunny myself, I'm heartbroken, too. Pearly Librarian: Oh, I love that necklace and earrings. Eolian Pearls: Wow, I love the Akoya Candy necklace. It reminds me of my Everything Bagel rope, which gets a lot of wear, because it goes with everything, and it's easy to...

    Inherited

They look like imitation pearls to me, too. The color and lack of overtones match my grandmother's imitation pearls, which I treasure.
