Think it is destined for a ring but I have not started looking for the setting. For the moment, it will be one of the numerous unset pearls in my collection. Another purchase from Japanese vendors TPC. Bail from another vendor Raystar. 13mm drop wssp. Love the near perfect tear drop shape.

Thought I share photos of a wssp from Golay as well. It is button but looks exactly like an akoya. The pink in the photo is mostly from my HP but it has some pink and blue overtones.

Hi, I was looking at some Tahitian strands ( reliable vendor) and I was shown a strand of Tahitians which were strung with stainless steel wire. Between each pearl was a small round black disc (guess to function as knots). It looks like the wire is part of an "invisible"/interchangeable clasp...

Is it possible to safely cut off the tail without damaging the rest of the pearl? And who do you recommend to do this task? Pardon my ignorance but this is the first time I hear this can be done.
