Opinions on Pearl (is this real)

OMG, the pieces are getting more and more exquisite along the way! I absolutely love the necklace - it is a great art nouveau example. Wish you lot of luck bidding for it. A piece like that should find an owner who is able to admire the beauty of it.

My Grandmothers Pearls from the 40's

Dtown22, it would be great to see a closeup of the pearls, esp. the drillholes. Also are there any stamps on the clasp?

    Elaborate Freshwater Flower Pin

I must admit, that to my eyes this brooch looks perfect and elaborate exactly the way it is. The precious stones do distract from the pearls, but immediately underline and transmit the message of it being a one of a kind piece.

Help me pick a pair please :)

In terms of luster the pairs 2,3,7 (top down) look best on my screen. In terms of colour, I personally would probably go for a pair nr. 3 as I am fan of vivid colours, but that is just a personal preference, of course.

    My unexpected Tahitians

Lisa C, you are so right, it did involve Late Night, season 1 ;) thus Chipahoy, I am sorry it was just a lucky ebay buy. And it did involve a bit of story, as I was actually looking for a diamond ring for my mum, who is turning 65 this year and this was mine and my dad's present to her. I did...

Another clueless husband with good intentions

Cole, let me second Wendy about the colours. I' m in my early thirties and I tend to wear my white pearls mostly for more formal occasions (though for me personally those are quite plenty, as my typical officewear is a suit) while multicoloured go lovely with jeans.

    Yet another wandering wonderer

This is actually a great thing I love about pearls - unlike diamonds or gemstones they do not have to be expensive in order to be pleasant for the eye. Enjoy them and wear a lot, this way they will be worth every penny.

My great great grandmothers NATURAL pearl necklace

Caitlin, do you happen to have a comparison photo with natural and akoya strands in order to see how does the luster differ? Thanks
